Summary

Morgan's life is not easy. Growing up on the streets of City Four, he is constantly shunned by the other citizens. Morgan doesn't mind being ignored. What he does mind, though, are the constant beatings from the city guards due to his friendship with Sarah, the city lord's only daughter. Lord Simon wants him dead, but the laws of the kingdom are on Morgan’s side and even the guards won't kill him, just for being seen near his manor.

Morgan’s time is running out, though. Lord Simon has deep pockets and his last visit to the manor may just have put him over the edge. Worse, he is nearing his 16th birthday, and has yet to awaken any abilities. In a world where might makes right, he has never been one of the mighty. What will he do when faced with a life altering decision and just how will his decision impact those around him?

Mostly good.

I enjoyed this book. The narrator is pretty good, though some voices sound very similar. My main grievance that I have with this book that was never justified is the unbelievable level of ignorance and naivete of the MC. He is a 16 year old boy who grew up as an orphan on the streets and he doesnt know what sex is. Every time a woman flirts or makes a move he acts like he has no idea what they are doing. He doesnt even grasp what rape is. It's such a dumb mechanic to use it actually detracts from the story. Even if he had never even heard of the opposite sex, his hormone addled teenage body would react to an attractive female flirting and touching him. I'm just blown away that the author took it as far as he did to try and make the MC seem unlearned and naive.

Very enjoyable, exited for book 2

This book had what I feel a lot of litrpg are missing, and that's a good plot. It showed me who the characters were and what they are willing to do. I could have done without the abusive side character, but I understand why he was there.

The narrator was fine. Some of the female characters started to sound the same, but the guy nailed some of the other voices.

I loved this book!!

This book was amazing! The storyline was very intriguing along with the action packed description. The type of book was about magic and characters with special abilities, which I love in books. The narrating was good but I wish that he had used a more variety of voice to imitate the characters. I listened to this book not stop and I am extremely excited for the next book!!

Great book

I like how the main character doesn’t have a clue about women and their ways.

good start

okay I have to agree with all the other reviews this is actually a really good book. However the level of stupidity when it comes to the subject of sex or any subject related to females and relationships for the main character is a little ridiculous no matter how you look at it. the narrator did a pretty decent job. the only issue I had with the narration would be the tone in his voice gives the impression that you're listening to a book for younger kids like 8 to 10. more like a fairytale kind of book as opposed to a young adult or just straight-up fantasy book series

Really good

Neat and interesting what I have to say about this book. The characters are pretty good but could use a bit more depth to them but they are reasonable enough. The system of development is the most interesting aspect though and was enthralled with that part because of how unique it was. The fights were good and the narration was well done

great story!

Great story, love it all. is a little annoying that they do make the MC very dumb when it comes to sexual references or anything I'm the genre. other than that, it's very good! good narrator also, but will say some voices do sound exactly the same. but I'm sure it's hard to do so many voices by bn yourself, and it honestly doesnt bother me at all. so keep up the good work and keep these books coming baby!!!

Fun, but unoriginal.

The entire book I can pick out all the little "inspired by" sections, which isn't necessarily bad, but it does make it feel less unique. Also, I don't care if your main character is naive and innocent, but there is no way he doesn't realize what rape is... Narration was good, you could definitely tell he was getting more used to the characters as the book went on. I do think this book could have used an extra our or so of character development and growth. Also, the villains were cartoonishly one-sided. Though for its fault, overall still pretty solid. I'll most likely pick up the next one- 3.8/5

Good book

good book I just wish the narrator had a little bit more voice depth for each character.
