Fifty years ago, a vicious animal attack sparked by the lunar calendar destroyed a small farming family north of Dallas, Texas. No one knew the impact that night would have on the world's future. Today, that same lunar event will occur again. The question is, will the same vicious event reoccur? If it does, will it be isolated like before or on a global scale?

Against the clock, Rob and Mel Florchett must solve the mystery behind the attack in 1970 and put the pieces of their family back together. Along the way they befriend locally renowned psychologist, Dr. Maria Sheltie. Through their combined research and bravery they outwit the CIA and survive the brutality of a Mexican cartel boss. But will family, friendship and pure luck be enough to prevent the world as we know it from an all out animal apocalypse? Conspiracy, suspense, and peril lurk around every corner in this heart-pumping race-against-the-clock thriller.

An exciting story of horror, family and action. Fast paced, guns, cars and so much more!
Although the description in the book can be a bit too repetitive in faster paced scenes, the details are gratefully appreciated in slower ones.

If you love cars, guns and action I'm sore you will love this book!

The incredibly gory details!

I had this book recommended by OnlineBookClub an I committed to it as I generally enjoy thrillers. I did not totally dislike it, but the initial episode goes too much on the gory horror side for my taste, also with too much of a fantastic characteristic as compared to the rest of the story. On the whole, it is a very fast-paced thriller, quite entertaining for those who like the genre, including myself. I was a bit turned off by the author's taste for gore, and also by a few coincidences that seemed a bit far-fetched towards the end. On the whole, though, the book was enjoyable and I am tempted to check the sequel as well. I was also quite pleased with the narration, it goes very well with the fast pace of the story, not playing too much into differentiating character voices, but enough to give a clear image of who is speaking. All in all, a good entertaining listen.

A rapid-fire thriller with a gory side

Super Moon Protocol is a wild mix of creature horror, conspiracy, family trauma, and nonstop action. Mel is easily the standout character—tough, sarcastic, resourceful, and impossible to ignore—and her relationship with Rob adds some much-needed heart to an otherwise chaotic story. The audiobook moves at a good pace and keeps throwing strange and disturbing twists at you, although some of the darker storylines and pseudo-scientific explanations felt a little forced. Overall, if you enjoy bizarre creature-feature horror with plenty of action, suspense, and a touch of dark humor, this is an entertaining listen.
