About this listen

Demon Accords, book 13.

Faced with writing college papers, prepping for tests, and teaching testy witches, Declan O'Carroll has enough on his plate. Not to mention the magical withdrawal of leaving his very own magical kingdom behind on Fairie. But when he and his friends are attacked from creatures out of folklore and fable, it seems the Queens of Summer and Winter aren't done with him yet. But if they're so eager to mess with Earth, maybe it's time to Earth came to them. After all, he's got some lessons to teach.

It doesn't get old, it didn't disappoint in any way. I get uber excited when ever I see a John Conroe book pop up. So worth every penny!

I love this series

I’ve listened to all of the demon accords stories which has been a lovely way to revisit these stories. Hearing them narrated has brought them to life in a different way. I also know how to pronounce CAECO. This book brings Declan and Chris closer together without the character hopping of the previous nook.
Although I really rate James Patrick Cronin, he doesn’t do British regional accents. In fact they are hilarious and weird but to me it’s part of the overall charm

Great story

The narrator really needs to hear some non-american accents.

His Irish is an American caricature of an accent - I keep expecting Leprechauns and pots of gold, begorrah!

His Welsh and English accents are a bigger joke.

His Australian accent sounts like a South African with A speech impediment.

Quite frankly, it distracts from the story.

OK Story, rubbish accents

I honestly don't know about other people but I really enjoy these books.
The story, the detail, the way the author describes everything is simply amazing and with this narrator it is even better, it brings out a vivid picture and I love it.

I've been really enjoying this series of books by John Conroe. This one is no exception, the plot moves along at decent pace and all the usual characters are there. It's an entertaining story to listen to when I'm out walking the dog.

However, the non American accents the narrator puts are awful. I have lived in Wales and worked for an Irish company and I have never encountered accents like those portrayed ever, especially the Welsh, which did not sound Welsh at all. The Irish characters all sound like charactures of Irish people, I half expect them to start talking about pots of gold....

It grated with me and spoilt my enjoyment of what otherwise was a great story and performance.

Good story, shame about the dodgy accents.
