Summary

Dr. Gundry has spent many years in the field treating patients suffering from a wide range of ailments. Many of these ailments were autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis, asthma, and Crohn’s disease. At first, Gundry struggled to treat his patients with conventional methods, but they only seemed to get worse. But then he found a common thread in their suffering - they all partook of diets that consumed a large amount of plant-based lectin.

Gundry then had his patients dramatically reduce this lectin intake and was astonished at the results. His patient’s disorders managed to correct themselves, and they also lost a lot of weight in the process. In short, they were healthier and happier than ever before simply by tweaking their diet. The interesting thing about Dr. Gundry’s discovery was that his patients whom he had “cured” in this manner were not junk-food junkies, they were individuals who worked out and ate what they believed to be “healthy diets” with plenty of veggies.

It was then that Dr. Gundry understood the paradox that they faced. He realized that even though vegetables are indeed good for us, if too much of certain kinds of veggies are eaten in certain ways, it can have disastrous consequences. It was then that Grundy devised his plan to walk us through the mine field.

The discovery!

A good one. I am sure that too of everything is not good. Maybe this book entails it all. I am not against healthy foods but this maybe the book that can help on some of the autoimmune diseases. Worth it.

just starting out as a non-profit

Found his conclusions well-reasoned and clearly explained and worth pondering. So, here is a dismissive wave of the hand to the hysterical critics. Is his theory correct? I don't know. I have been battling an autoimmune disease for years; I'm about to find out. If it works for me I will post an update.

Great resource!

I need to know the reasons behind changing the way I eat. It is basically a combination of paleo and vegan, or piscatorial. You will have to cook all your own meals but I have already noticed a huge reduction in the need for my asthma medication.

I totally love green plantains for making pancakes! I have found "Natural Valley" Goat's muenster, mozzarella, & mild - med. - sharp cheddar. All are really awesome! I agree with Dr. Gundry that Meyenberg Goat's Milk is the best, and I have tried a few.

Has great information

This isn't the easiest way to eat, as you'll have to say goodbye to some of your best friends (bread, sugar, grains, among just a few) but when you're ready to trade instant gratification for long term health Dr. G will show you how. Wish I had done this a long time ago.

The dietary recommendations

I was having terrible gastric distress until I started this. I expected that I might feel hungry but honestly, I do not even eat as much as he lays out in the book per day and I have no hunger

Great guide

It's a pretty limited diet but the results are well worth it. I'm also down two sizes on my jeans and my belly is shrinking noticeably. Very happy with the results and feeling better every day.

I think it will be useful

Still going for more as our body's were both messed up with so called "health" foods that were really junk. Really good books if you can't lose weight and you feel you're doing every thing you can to do it.
