Summary

Please note: This is a summary and not the original book.

Tim Ferriss is the author of The 4-Hour Workweek, a New York Times best-seller that incorporates the Pareto Principle and Parkinson's Law into a lifestyle of reduced working hours and more personal free time.

After graduating from Princeton University, where he earned a degree in East Asian Studies, Tim started his first business selling nutritional supplements at the age 23. Since selling his business, he has become a Guinness Book of World Records holder in tango and a host of his own program on the History Channel.

The 4-Hour Workweek is Tim Ferriss' first book. Detailing his personal experiences of success and failures in "lifestyle design", the book provides listeners with a clear road map on how to outsource mundane work, reduce clutter and information overload to create smooth income streams and more free time.

The author believes that pursuing dreams and goals now is more important than deferring them until after retirement, and his book promotes a variety of lifestyle design options that give listeners exciting alternatives to the ordinary nine-to-five routine.

Precis Misses The Point

This summary of the 4-hour work week misses the chance to emphasize key points that are a major point of the "lifestyle planning" regime originally written up in Tim Ferris's book.

I have the original book and bought this as a quick refresher. The problem for this "summary" is that it does not convey the information of the original work and misses emphasis on the things that were considered important by the original author.

Without having read the original work a listener of this item will not get the information intended, and misses some relevant, important points.

An amazing tool!

This book is by far the best tool I've found to help me reach the lifestyle I aspire too. Many authors outline philosophies or ideals, but Ferriss has demonstrated the steps necessary to attain those ends. Being a recent college grad myself, the 4-hour work week has helped me formulate a plan for the future, and given me the tools I needed to implement it!

A Must Read for Everyone

I feel lucky to have found this book. I will definitely recommend it to everyone I know and that includes YOU. This book is a true "how-to" for creating more of the most precious commodity we have, time, and putting it to good use. There's more practical, timely, real-life information in this book than in anything else I've ever read hands down.
