Katherine wasn’t looking for anything extraordinary in her life. She had a job she loved, a husband she adored, and a home in the beautiful seaside town of Moonstone Cove. Okay, yes, she worked too much and had fallen out of touch with all her friends, but that happened to everyone, right? And sure, she was feeling a little creaky in the mornings and couldn’t drink coffee after noon, but that was just life in middle age.

When it rains, it pours...and sometimes love finds you even when you can’t find yourself. Fate has given me a second chance at the happiness I once knew in the odd Southern town of Grimm Cove. But only if I can come to terms with some rather eye-opening revelations. Supernaturals are a real thing. I'm a witch. My high school sweetheart, who happens to be the Chief of Police in Grimm Cove, is my fated mate and a wolf-shifter. Ghosts exist and can be very nosy and meddlesome. Story
The day after my 43rd birthday, my husband announced he was trading me in - his words, not mine. The news was unwelcome at the time, but honestly? I needed a good goosing to get up and find my way to the door. So I was freed from the giant manual of expectations authored by my ex. That was the good news. The flip side was less happy. Due to living in a state not friendly to discarded wives, I was also relieved of the financial "security" I'd spent a lifetime accruing.

Summary
A paranormal women's fiction with a bit of class and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!
Every woman goes through changes in their forties. Just not...these changes.
Robin Brannon was a normal wife, mom, and antique shop owner until a brush with death turned her day-to-day life upside down. Now, she and her two best friends are seeing things that belong in a fantasy novel. Ghosts. Visions. Omens of doom. Nothing that belongs in the peaceful mountain town they call home.
Added to that, Robin's marriage is on the rocks, her grandmother's health is failing, her mother is driving away the customers at her shop, her teenage daughter refuses to get her driver's license, and her left knee aches every darn morning.
Robin doesn't have the time, energy, or knees to unearth the secrets buried at the bottom of Glimmer Lake, but fate doesn't seem to care. Some secrets are just dying to be exposed.
Suddenly Psychic is a stand-alone paranormal women's fiction and the first book in the Glimmer Lake series by USA Today best seller Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries.

Awesome Story & Listen🎧 Compelling & Delightful!
This fabulous paranormal women’s fiction novel drew me in, grabbed my attention and captivated it the entire book. It is a well written and well told story, an original and imaginative one filled with equality imaginative characters who are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. It is the first book of the “Glimmer Lake” series, a series that features three women, women in their forties who are in different phases in their life, Robin, Valerie, and Monica, each one is the lead character in their own book. This first book features Robin but her friends are support and secondary characters throughout, it also shows how they became “Suddenly Psychic” and how they are dealing with their new found powers. The three, who make a great team, also become women sleuths and try to solve a crime that happened years ago, they also deal with ghosts. Yes, ghosts, one of their powers is seeing ghosts, each woman has their own psychic power. We are also given a glimpse into Robin’s marriage, soon the be empty nesters she feels insecure about her relationship with her husband Mark. This fascinating and cleverly plotted story has it all, drama, paranormal fantasy, mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and a side of romance. Glimmer Lake is a mysteriously magical place and I am looking forward to visiting it again and learning more about it. Elizabeth Hunter, thank you for this very enjoyable and entertaining story.
🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Elizabeth Hunter cast the perfect narrator to bring her story and characters to life. Ava Lucas is a versatile voice artist and her talent knows no bounds, she performs the voices for all the characters, does a fabulous job covering both the male and female characters, giving each their own distinct voice making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. She has a complete understanding of the characters she portrays, sounding believable and just as I picture the character would sound. Ava Lucas sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into her performance. This entertaining storyteller is a pleasure to listen to, and her narration enhances an already wonderful story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

I had the same feelings from this book as I did from "Practical Magic", only this was kinder, and from the perspective of middle aged women. Instead clichés about hormones and weight gain, it made middle age seem like an evolution.

Definitely more chic lit than mystery - as others have pointed out, the who-dunnit part of the story is obvious from the beginning. However, the characters are likable, the writing is easy going and well rounded, and Ms. Lucas did a terrific job on the narration. While I would definitely buy another book in what will apparently be a series, I do hope Ms. Hunter can deepen the mystery in the next book.

Psychic
I am a bit disappointed, and not sure why all the rave reviews. I found it mildly depressing, and not a lot of psychic. The characters were all a bit whiney, well all but Monica. This is the first Elizabeth Hunter book I've not truly liked. Highly unlikely I'll continue with this series. The narrator was good.

unlikeable main character
I thought I would really like this series, because I like paranormal mysteries of many different types. Sadly, I do not like the main character at all. I like her two friends fine so far, but Robin is just too annoying. She seems to have a really sweet life, but she does nothing but complain. Her husband seems to love her and to be a good father, but she ignores him, critisizes him, squabbles with him, and then moans that he's lost interest in her. It seems pretty clear, to this reader anyway, that she's lost interest in him. She has a great business, and two good, healthy kids. This is where the book becomes intollerable for me. Her emotional abuse of her son is just not something I can tolerate. I get that her mother was/is emotionally abusive to her, so she's abusive to her son, but it's just not something I can relate to or want to spend time with. I assume she has some sort of revelation during the course of the book that helps to fix these problems, and makes her a better mom to both her kids as well as a better partner to her husband, but I don't want to spend any more time with her so I'm not finishing the book and will never find out how she pulls her head out of wherever-it-is.
The reader is superb.

Magical Mysteries
I highly recommend this paranormal mystery with a unique perspective and a lot of fun. The “Who done it” aspect may be apparent early on, but the journey is well worth the credit. The real draw is the friendship between the three mature women each with their individual insecurities, their reckoning with midlife and their unexpected abilities. There are LOL moments, snarky retorts and mature humor that the midlife listeners will especially appreciate. There are teaser for coming books, but none that leave you unsatisfied when this story closes. The teasers serve only to makes the listeners eagerly anticipate coming books and adventures. The narrator is new to me and does a great job of bringing these characters to life. If you are lookin for a departure from total reality with a little mystery, midlife sisterhood, snarky repartee, throw in paranormal and character development this book absolutely should top your next listen!

Amazing series!
I was introduced to Elizabeth Hunter by way of the Paranormal Women’s Fiction Fab13 and their launch of a series surrounding midlife women.
Y’all, this book got me all up in my feels. It was SO good! Elizabeth really knocked it out of the park. Ava Lucas does a wonderful job with the narration. The story was wrapped in mystery and dotted throughout with the humor of Robin and her best gal pals Val and Monica. I was intrigued from the get go and the story held my attention until the very end. The suspense was killing me but I so loved the journey as it was unraveled. The love story weaved within was heartfelt and so sad that I was left heartbroken. Not gonna lie, I cried. I’m excited to see where the girls end up with their new abilities and look forward to the next book.

Well written, well narrated but boring.
Good idea, well written, different in a good way, but the book is too boring for my liking, no humor or any real pizzaz of any kind, just meh. Good narrator, a bit on the dull side, not a lot of inflictions but good voices and well spoken.
