‘A born storyteller.’ PETER JAMES

A stranger is just a killer you haven’t met yet… The SUNDAY TIMES bestseller returns with the next big thing to hit the shelves. If you haven’t discovered Paul Finch yet, this book will have you hooked.

Unknown, alone, and fearing for your life: as PC Lucy Clayburn is about to find out, going undercover is the most dangerous work there is.

But, on the trail of a prolific female serial killer, there's no other option – and these murders are as brutal as they come. Lucy must step into the line of fire – a stranger in a criminal underworld that butchers anyone who crosses the line.

And, unknown to Lucy, she's already treading it…

Dark, gritty and ALWAYS edge-of-your-seat. Paul Finch will leave fans of Rachel Abbott and MJ Arlidge gasping for more.

PC Lucy Clayburn wants to be a detective. She had one chance and then blew it. Now, ten years on, she has another chance.

Through a series of fortuitous leads, Lucy becomes a leading character in the investigation, going undercover into a dangerous world of high-class prostitution.

Lucy steps into the line of fire, a stranger in a criminal underworld that links closer to home than she would like.

I really enjoy Paul Finch's DC Heckenburg books and this was heading in the right direction. Maybe a second book will develop Lucy's character further.

A female serial killer needs catching.

Best of its genre that I have read in a very long time. It's a great story with just the right amount of twists and turns and Chloe Massey is the perfect narrator. I am only hoping that PC Lucy Clayburn returns soon!

Absolutely brilliant!

Right from the off the story starts to lay a path of twists & turns that seemingly don’t stop until the book ends.
Good old fashioned cop styled out by our leading lady who is feisty to core as well as incredibly resourceful, if at times a wee bit stretched.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this book the narration was satisfactory too which added to the whole package being a 10/10 for me!
