I don't drink. I never have, ever. Not a drop. I

I don't drink. I never have, ever. Not a drop. I was raised by alcoholic parents and that was enough to cause me to never drink. But every day I see cutesy booze ads, and I live in a vineyard area that has vans of people, (women) come in buses to taste wine. I got this book mostly to validate my life long feelings about alcohol. I never got why people drank it. To me, it is poison. But I'm the outsider in this boozy cool world. This book was very interesting to me, and made me feel very good that I've never gotten into drinking at all.

Author also avoids the trap of over-analysing addiction. Becoming alcohol-free is not about finding some kind of ultimate truth about why and how people become addicted.

It will be a little uncomfortable at times but the discomfort is nothing compared to the pain created by alcohol.

informative book

Once you start being completely honest with yourself, stop making excuses and recognise all the lies about alcohol most people believe in, the process of recovery becomes relatively simple and effortless.

informative book

This is why addiction busting is often so difficult and frustrating - when you fail to do the work with your head and fixate on the physical level of quitting, you are just creating conflict in yourself.
