About this listen

Living ain't easy.

After a horde of the living dead ravaged the town of New Haven, Eddie and his band of road-weary survivors escape only to return to the road and head up the coast.

The Caulfields remain steadfast, determined more than ever to stand their ground against the living dead.

Sheriff Davis and a small group of survivors sit trapped in a holding cell, facing an almost-certain doom.

Ben, a serial killer left for dead on a rooftop, reanimates with a score to settle.

Scientists in the Mount Weather Special Facility have discovered that there's more to the living dead than reanimated flesh.

Stay Dead 2: The Dead & the Dying is a roller-coaster ride of zombie mayhem that will have you listening nonstop.

Stay Dead 2 carries on in the same vain as the first book. The character development is pretty shallow making it more difficult to keep up with all the various characters because I didn't feel connected to them and didn't care what happened to them. Some characters were introduced then died quickly. What did interest me was the serial killer zombie plot but the whole aspect of him being a 'special' zombie wasn't fleshed out so it left me disappointed. The actions of this zombie brutally torturing a woman was way over the top and unnecessary, it gave no benefit to the book and is likely to trigger some people. Also the serial zombie killer only has a very small part to play in the book, I wish the author included more of him as it would have made the book more interesting. Book 2's storyline is definitely drawn out to lead to Stay Dead 3 as there are a number of unconcluded side stories from main characters.

I was given a copy of this book for free of my own choosing and have voluntarily left this review.
