Summary

The stunning conclusion to the acclaimed and prizewinning Railhead trilogy.

What happens after the adventure of a lifetime? For Zen, it's a safe, comfortable life of luxury. But it's not what Zen wants. He misses the thrill of riding the rails, of dodging danger and of breathing the air of different planets. Most of all of course he misses Nova - lost to him forever in a distant world. But then one day a mysterious message arrives - and that's all Zen needs to head right off, ready for anything. Except that no one could be ready for what he finds....

Thrilling, thought-provoking and breathtaking, this finale to the Railhead trilogy weaves a web of wonder, full of characters and events you will never forget.

A spectacular addition to the series!

I love the direction this book ended up taking and feel like there’s so much scope for alternate story lines post/prior/during to be told hopefully! I cried like a girl at the end and I’m not even ashamed - thank you to the author! Please give us more 🙌🏾

wonderful end to a great space opera.

outstanding, again. Philip Reeve's imagination is second to none. sentient trains, a rich mix of humanity and an extraordinary selection of aliens , and a cracking, breathless plot. what a ride!

Imaginative Entertainment

I have listened to the audio books of all three books in the series back to back and thoroughly enjoyed each installment. I read Phillip Reeve's Mortal Engines series to my son many years ago and when I saw this Railhead series I decided to give it a try. It took over my life for a few days as I found it so compelling. Intended for youngsters, I imagine, but the characters and wildly imaginative worlds worked just as well for me. The narrator can make or break an audiobook, and Malk Williams is wonderfully talented, getting the tone and voices just right for the story.

a trilogy I actually finished

Never read anything by Philip before and got to say his writing style is great and you can really buy into the story and characters.
The railhead books are an original story arc which doesn't try to explain the science. Only issue I have (and many other authors use this) is the story mechanic of supersoftware hacking stuff. it's a bit lazy.
