Ex-Special Forces Communications Sergeant Jacopo “Jack” Constantino heads the cybersecurity at Four Kings Security, working with his tech-savvy team to provide clients with state-of-the-art security systems. But life for Jack is pretty uneventful — despite the exploits with his brothers-in-arms — and he finds himself longing for a little more excitement.
Be careful what you wish for.
Two years ago, Fitz Harlow captured Jack’s heart and walked away with it. Now he’s back.
Fitz spent the last two years picking up the pieces of his life after a disastrous relationship. After much therapy, and ice cream, Fitz leaves the fashion world behind and returns home to St. Augustine to open his own high-end salon, Hair Comes Trouble. Now, Fitz finally has the quiet, peaceful life he’s wanted for so long. There’s only one thing missing, or rather, one man missing, but Fitz has his doubts. With Jack, he’s not just gaining a boyfriend — he’s gaining a boyfriend, his family of mischief-magnet ex-Green Berets, and one highly opinionated Belgian Malinois.
Fitz and Jack discover their connection has only grown stronger over time, thanks in part to meddling friends, but just as they start to pick up where they left off, someone takes objection to their reunion. Danger hides in the shadows, one determined to keep Fitz out of Jack’s life, no matter the cost. With the odds stacked against them, can Jack and Fitz win a battle against an unknown enemy, or will Jack lose Fitz forever?

Greg Boudreaux' narration was excellent as always. He does such a great job bringing the emotion and humor to these characters' voices. A++!
I received a free copy of this audiobook and listened to it in one sitting - it was that good - and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
Fantastic!

Great narration as always. Loved the Four Kings universe. Can wait to hear the rest of the cast's stories.

I haven't listened to many books by this narrator, but I thought he did a great job with the material and added a lot to what was already a great book. I will definitely be putting Greg Boudreaux on my favorite narrators list. 4.5 stars for this excellent start to the Wild Cards series. I'm looking forward to the rest! This book is technically a standalone but will be enjoyed much more after reading the four books from The Four Kings series, as backstory that was covered in those books wasn't covered in this one too much.
So funny!

Jack is the head of Cyber Security for Kings Security and has been pining for Fitz, two years on after their first mini encounter. All that time, Fitz has been working on himself. Moving on from a bad ten year relationship and preparing to open his own business has kept him from contacting Jack but his was always thinking of him. Their meddling/well meaning friends help to bring them together at an event but this is also the start of when someone starts going after Jack and Fitz. Drugs, car crashes, fire and kidnapping keeps everyone on their toes as they fight to keep the couple safe and find out who is causing so much trouble. You're kept guessing as to the identity right up to the end whilst there's still continues to be so much going on. Definitely a story that keeps you gripped, entertained and rooting for the couple though understandably things get very tense for them when the unknown person just piles on the trouble, one thing after the next. With everything that goes on and Jack's military history, Fitz has to be sure that his in this relationship for the long haul.
Right from the start, I was in love with this! Even before the end of chapter one I was laughing. We really get to see how close and meaningful the friendship between Jack and Joker is, still saving each other on a daily basis. The Kings are a real family unit and they happily welcome those who love their brother's and I cannot wait to read the next in the series! Cannot recommend enough.
Greg's narration is one of the best, drawing out the characters and fully bringing everything to life within the story. I binge listened this one in two days. I loved reading it but the narrations just adds another layer of enjoyment and again, cannot recommend enough!
Brilliant addition to the Kings world
