Lovely company!
I really enjoyed listening to the books in my car, while commuting. It really helped me feel a little better about driving to work every day, and I was looking forward to listening to each new adventure. There were definitely laugh out loud moments. The Great British Bake Off meets Harry Potter
Loved the first 3 books in the series, binged them in three days! As I loved it so much I have gotten the rest in the series. All 3 of the books in this set (18hrs for just one credit!) were an happy story with some suspense sprinkled in. The comedy within is similar to the original Sabrina the teenaged witch - which I still binge watch to this day, so it was right up my street! I loved all the baking and Iggy is just an amazing character, I've caught myself chuckling to his remarks a few times! All 3 books contain a murder mystery, but they don't feel forced and seem to weave their way into Imogen's life in a natural way. I really adore each character and all seem quite well written, even the mermaids in the third book are a bit of a stereotype, but as its not how you'd imagine a mermaid to be, it was enjoyable and the mermaid characters stayed true and believable. My only criticism is that book 2 had some slight editing issues when it came to the audio, nothing that stopped me enjoying the story or performance (the narrator is brilliant), but on the odd occasion a characters lines were repeated.

Totally Awesome Series
I so love this series! Emogen and all her friends are a such a joy to follow. Here's my reviews for the these three books: Seashells Spells & Caramels A Great New Series! This was such a fun listen! If you enjoy cozy mysteries that leave you feeling good and in a better mood then this book is for you! Imogen is such a great character, you can't help but love her. Then add in the quirky friends she makes, a murder, a competition and plenty of magic! The narration is wonderful as well. Hannah Somerville gives each character their own unique voice and emotions. She really brings their personalities to life. Her reading is nicely paced and she brings the story to animated life that makes this a very entertaining listen! I look forward to the next book in the series. I most definitely will be recommending this to my friends. Black Arts, Tarts and Gypsy Carts Awesome Continuation I'm loving this series. Imogen and her crazy friends are simply wonderful to listen to. I thoroughly enjoy hearing about her adventures. There's humor, mystery, magic and plenty of adventure. Imogen learning more about her magic and another murder but this time a friend is accused of the crime. Did she do it? Will Imogen finally get a hold on her powers? You'll just have to listen to find out. This was such a delight to listen to. Hannah Somerville did a wonderful job with the characters voices, emotions and personalities, just like with book one. However, the only problem I had was that, with this book, Ms Somerville read at a faster pace than book one. It actually took me a bit in the beginning to adjust to the pace. At first I thought she was trying to rush through the reading but she kept the pace, for the most part, throughout the entire book. So once you adjust to it then the rest flows alright. The narration didn't take away from the story since she kept the voices and personalities the same as book one it didn't exactly add to the story either. I felt a slower speed would have made this wonderful sequel even better. Maybe if you can adjust your listening speed then it'll be even better for you. I think it's well worth your time but just wanted to warn about the faster paced narration. Mermaid Fins, Winds & Rolling Pins Lovin' This Series I absolutely love this series. Imogen and her friends are highly entertaining. I love the banter between them. This book is just as fun, lighthearted, crazy and highly entertaining as the other two books of the series. I also enjoyed Imogen's interactions with Prince Hank. If you're into cozy mysteries then you should check this one out. Imogen and her friends will keep you chuckling from beginning to end. The narration by Hannah Somerville was excellently done! She give the many characters their own voices, emotions and personalities. She has kept the characters voices the same through the books. You have no doubt who is speaking and she really brings the story to life, making the listening experience so much more enjoyable. If you enjoy cozy mysteries then you really need to check this one out! It's simply delightful (and I can't say that about most cozies)! I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A fun cozy mystery
I have so enjoyed this series! The stories are well thought and the mysteries are fun to untangle. Imogen and her new friends grow so much through the series. The mysteries are fun and we'll thought. I listen in the car and more than once drove around the block a time (or 5) to extend my listening time! The narrator is a perfect match for these whimsical mysteries!

The editing needs to be checked.
I enjoy the story and the narrator. However throughout the readings there are long pauses, repeats of parts and in the second book there are chapters that are raed out of order.

The Narrator Sounds Like a Child
The narrator sounds like a talented high school senior who is good at forensics. That's fine for some characters, but the protagonist in these stories is a grown woman who is at least in her late 20s. The narrator has no idea how to pronounce many of the words the protagonist is supposedly saying or thinking, and the mispronunciations are distracting. The narrator also has a young voice, compounding the problem. All of this adds up to an unnecessary challenge to the believability of the story. Now, the whole premise is, of course, fantastical, but these stories are squarely within the genre and don't undermine themselves, but the narrator does. It's too bad because all-in-all, the narrator is strong, and would be great reading YA fiction. For my taste, she relies way too much on accents to differentiate characters rather than developing personas in a more natural way, but if she's as young as she sounds, that's a forgivable problem. Mispronunciations are not forgivable as they are evidence of poor production as well as a neophyte reader.
