Summary
Agatha Christie’s classic thriller. Features the recurring character Colonel Race from Death on the Nile, Cards on the Table and The Man in the Brown Suit.
Six people sit down to dinner at a table laid for seven. In front of the empty place is a sprig of rosemary – in solemn memory of Rosemary Barton who died at the same table exactly one year previously. No one present on that fateful night would ever forget the woman’s face, contorted beyond recognition – or what they remembered about her astonishing life.

not to be confused with another story
there's a short story called YELLOW IRIS that has the same setup but different outcome.
they both have a woman dying by cyanide at a night club as the start but change directions after that.
it can feel confusing if you remember the wrong one. (Poirot is in the other one.)

A "SPARKLING" TALE!
Would you listen to Sparkling Cyanide again? Why?
This is a "keeper" There are at least two other versions both of which I have and I never tire of this story.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Sparkling Cyanide?
As ever with Christie the moment the "rogue" is revealed, she always catches me out!
Which character – as performed by Hugh Fraser – was your favourite?
Iris Marle - the "heroin" although a hard choice, he is very good at them all!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Definitely!
Any additional comments?
Another sparkling mystery by the great Ms Christie.

Old-fashioned excellence
From a more respectful age, no wonder Agatha's stories continue to be told, retold , revamped for newer media, and yet continue to attract an audience. Also very well read - thank you.

Rushed Denouement
Elaborate rushed denouement raising a question of how a key relationship, hardly explained by the author, ever took place in the context of the life of other characters.

A cracking story
all good except one thing - that the chapters being read don't match the chapters shown on screen. Makes it very inconvenient to follow.

usual Hugh Fraser brilliance
Always love Christie stories, perfectly complimanted by the wonderful Hugh Fraser narration. I only wish she had written even more to be brought to life by Mr Fraser.

Excellent Story
I really enjoyed listening to this story. it was an excellent listen and story without Poirot or Marple, but still lots of twists and turns.
