Summary

If you want to learn Spanish quickly and without getting bored, don't waste any more time. Keep reading...

After English, Spanish is the most popular language in the world, with over 35 countries and 600 million people speaking it. I would, therefore, say that choosing to learn it means making an intelligent choice. But learning a new language is not that easy and can be quite boring and tiring if you don't have the right tools to learn it.

This is also why many people choose to travel and dive directly in the place. But it is not such a simple solution for everyone. It will seem like a misplaced question, but science helps you here. Do you know that we memorize and learn information more easily through stories? Because, our brain likes it. It has been so used to stories from an early age, with the tales they told us, cartoons we watched, etc. In this way, we are more inclined to learn. As a result, it is easier to learn and memorize a new language by reading and listening to stories.

Now, I don't want to influence you by saying that mine is the best book in circulation; you will be the judge. As you surely know, there are several books similar to this one for learning Spanish, but they are not really optimal or suitable for beginners for different reasons: complicated terms are used, they have too long stories with no parallel text in English, lack of vocabulary, grammatical errors, lack of techniques and suggestions, and other carelessness issues that you will not find in this book.

The audiobook is divided into two parts.

Here is what you'll find inside:

  • Tips and techniques about learning languages and key insights into learning Spanish
  • The fundamentals of the Spanish language
  • Some of the most complex issues of the Spanish language
  • Verb conjugations in the present tense
  • 25 dual language lessons in parallel text, broken down into verb tenses
  • Core vocabulary which can be used in multiple situation
  • The present simple tense with the verbs “ser” and “estar”
  • The various ways in which verbs can be conjugated
  • The present simple tense with regular verbs
  • And much more!

Even if you have never spoken or written in Spanish, there's no need to worry because this audiobook was designed specifically for people like you. In fact, by purchasing this book, you will have the big advantage that only this book offers - that it offers the parallel translation of the stories in English, which will definitively cancel any difficulty in understanding and memorizing the text that you might encounter by purchasing other books.

Very very useful little book!

As I'm very interested in learning and improving foreign languages I took in school this small book really caught my eye because it seems child friendly. While some times that may seem like a bad thing I learned that LISTENING children's books/listening to children audio stories really can help you improve your language at a nice pace instead of trying to keep up with a tutor or teacher's usually faster paced teaching.

Great book to continue practicing Spanish

I needed to refresh my memory since i haven't practice Spanish in while , spent a couple months in México, this books helped me to remember several words i forgot the meaning.
What I like about this book is that it gives you a vocabulary at the end of each story and also highlight the verbs. The stories are entertaining and very relocatable to everyone's daily life.
Definitely recommend this book for those that want to continue practicing Spanish.

Front to Back Review

The book contains a total of ten short stories that revolve around daily themes that are in Spanish as well as English. This book gives us an effective way of pronunciation as well as an English glossary in case if we do not know the meaning of such words. Each chapter contains a quiz that summarizes the story that you have read. Afterwards, the book gives you a summary that you can compare with your own understanding of the short stores. The message behind this book is to have one language that set you in a corridor for life but with two languages, it can open every door along the way.

Highly recommend this book

I decided to buy this book to brush up on my Spanish since I haven't studied it in a long time and I still consider myself to be a beginner to the language. The book itself is fairly simple for beginners and it has a glossary after each story for complex vocabulary. However, I would not recommend this book for complete beginners, as not all the words in the stories are translated. If anything, it is helpful for those studying Spanish already and need an extra studying boost. Otherwise, this book is great for those willing to study Spanish!

Great tool for reviewing a language!

I studied Spanish in school and the stories in this book are an entertaining way to refresh rather than just reviewing vocabulary lists or verb conjugation charts. The one small change I’d make is putting the key vocabulary words before the story but otherwise this is an excellent option for someone attempting to brush up on the language.

Great way to approach learning Spanish

This Spanish Short Stories for Beginners allows those beginning to learn Spanish an opportunity to increase their vocabulary while immersing themselves in short stories that allow them to practice their Spanish reading and comprehension skills. This is an excellent approach to learning Spanish.

This is a super interesting book

This is the only book I found that a beginner can read and understand. I don’t think it is for absolute beginners though. Students need to have built up their vocabulary to a certain extent to fully comprehend it. I just started using it with my Spanish students and they like it so far. The vocabulary review at the end of the chapter is very useful.

Challenging for a beginner

The stories were interesting although a little challenging for a beginner. However, there’s an opportunity to add to vocabulary with the help index to each story.

I love the method of learning Spanish via stories

I like the book's format, short stories with vocabularies, story summaries in both Spanish and English, and audios. It's a good way to improve your Spanish from beginner to intermediate level.

Enjoyable Short Stories

It gave me a chance to practice listening in Spanish and become familiar with the old words and new ones. It has short stories that I can listen while in the train or bus. I enjoyed the vocabulary and the questions at the end of each story especially the summary. The questions asked tested me if I understood what I read. Which was great.

Really learn book

There were some words that I had to look up that weren't actually in the glossary at the end of each section--even though they were tough enough (non-high frequency) that I thought they should have been added. But again, when you listen the goal should NOT be to understand EVERY word, at first.

I love this book

Definitely intermediate, all but the first story are in past tense and use subjunctive, etc., and they use a pretty wide range of vocab. And it uses the form, which is annoying. But they are actual stories and are engaging overall. And it’s a lot of bang for your buck since it’s a full-length book unlike most graded listeners.

Wonderful book

It says that there is a short summary at the end of every to help understand the story but it’s in Spanish too and i’m sure how exactly the expects me to understand that summary when I don’t speak . I bought the book to help me learn, if I knew how to listen in Spanish I wouldn’t have bought the book.

interesting audio book

I found this book highly beneficial from a beginner or beginning intermediate level - The option to highlight unfamiliar words, or phrases, allowed for a better understanding of dialogues and story lines, when using Enjoyed variety of stories, except.

Entertainment

The stories are very entertaining and really help me with learning my Spanish. However the female characters in this book are constantly scared... clearly listen by a man. His Male characters also love manplaining. This book could be much better...

This book is very nice learning

There is one odd thing about these stories however. I have started reading the book of introductory Italian short stories and the first story is identical to the to the first story in this book! Only the names of the cities, , and food have been changed--every event in the Spanish book correspond to an event in the Italian book! Stay tuned as I listen more of the Italian stories.

Useful short stories

It's really important to note that this book does a great job of giving you tense switches that feel realistic. Saying "I went to this cool store yesterday, do you want to go with me and then we will eat lunch somewhere else?" sounds easy, but that's three tense switches in one sentence. This book helped me get WAY better at this by having realistic scenarios where the language is used naturally .

Wonderful spanish learning

The Great thing about this book is the intro on how to listen this book effectively--please don't skip that! The focus is more on finishing the short than knowing every word: believe me, using this method you will look up fewer words, and feel more accomplished as a listener. It really is the best strategy I've ever used for listening a text in another language.

Challenge sports

I have found a listening tool that actually helps me, rather than frustrates me. Has put together a great combination of teaching and fun listening. For me, his instructions on how to listen the stories takes all of the "I will never get this. feeling away, and it is awesome to have enjoyable short stories specifically targeted to my level. Plus the short quizzes at the end to ensure that you understood the story are a great addition. My opinion is that this is a must-have addition for anyone seriously learning Spanish.

interesting book

My Spanish was a little rusty and more Latin America than Spain.
This book challenged me and then after awhile I got into them more easily.
The genre of the stories were very diverse from adoption stories, Viking to .
They were pretty interesting within the limitation of being 'beginning Spanish.'
