Summary

Outside Sacred Valley, ancient ruins rise from the earth, drawing sacred artists from miles around to fight for the treasures within. Lindon has reached Copper, taking the first step on the road to power, but the warriors of the outside world are still far beyond him. To advance, he turns to the arcane skills of the Soulsmiths, who craft weapons from the stuff of souls. But with new powers come new enemies, and Lindon soon finds himself facing an entire sect of Golds.

Captivating

A 5-star rating for me is this: The combination of a great story with a medium level of details which is then told flawlessly with great voices. So far, the Cradle series delivers.

Exceptional series

I read these books on Kindle but enjoyed them so much that I purchased on Audible once they became available.

Mr. Baldree nails the reading and the content is top notch. Can’t recommend this series highly enough.

With more context comes more enjoyment

Book 2 was more interesting than Book 1 since it expanded the story arc in fascinating ways. We find that Lindon has somehow formed a bond with Yerin through his trustworthiness and keen ability to find ways to overcome his severe limitations by using other tools at his reach to defend Yerin at critical points. Yerin, herself, is shown to be a much more interesting character than the one-dimensional warrior as depicted in the previous book.

We are also introduced to two new apex characters, Jai Long an antagonist and Eithan an aloof interloper with mysterious foresight abilities. There are other interesting secondary characters and Will Wight expertly weaves a fascinating narrative that has both Yerin and Lindon barely surviving one confrontation after another mostly driven by Lindon's drive to increase his rank through hard work and an insatiable appetite for learning.

Travis Baldree's narration continues to be a delight to listen to.

As of this writing, I'm begrudgingly on hold for Book 3 in hopes that it will eventually be offered in WhisperSync as the first two.

Amazing story with superb voice acting!

This book was an exhilarating read when I first purchased it over a month ago, now hearing Wei Shi Lindon come to life once again has me hooked all over again.

The Cradle series has so much depth and well-thought characters that I wouldnt be surprised if a TV adaptation came about over the next few years! The characters and their thoughts and feelings are so nuanced that you dont need them to tell you how they are feeling with each sentence, their actions define loud and clear what they intentions are.

Travis Baldree once again reprises his role as VA and by the Heavens has he done it again! Truly impressed with his vocal range and the amount of emotion he can detail with each line he reads!

Can't wait until the audiobooks can catch up to where the books currently are! Keep up the great work Will and Travis!

Can’t say enough good things.

Great story, great narrator. My only complaint is that the author does not publish a new book every week.
