Summary

Random House presents the audiobook edition of Raven 2: Sons of Thunder by Giles Kristian, read by Philip Stevens.

If you betray a Fellowship, you are a dead man....

Raven and the Wolfpack plough the sea-road in pursuit of the Saxon traitor Ealdred, who has left the Fellowship for dead and fled to the Frankish Emperor Charlemagne and the promise of untold riches. Sailing in search of revenge, the pagan Norsemen venture into the heart of a Christian empire that would wipe their kind from the face of the earth, a place where danger lies in wait around every bend of the great river up which they travel.

A young man with no memory and a blood-tainted eye, Raven has found friendship and purpose amongst this fierce band of warriors. Having proved himself in battle, he is now certain that Viking blood flows in his veins, but to survive this adventure, his cunning must be as sharp as his blade....

Bernard Cornwell lite

The narrator ignores punctuation, and introduced his own tempo. slow slowslow slow and so (slow) on Either obviously influenced by Bernard Cornwell

duel?

why spoil the story with a pointless duel between signed and aaelfleds' brute, just kill them both already. I loved the first but this one is tarnished, I hope for better in the final part

Giles Kristian's storyrelling keeps getting better

Raven, Sigurd and the crew get up to more mischief; adventure, plunder and other Norse activities are plentiful in this brilliant book.

Kristian sets a high octane pace and keeps the historical facts flowing, this series of books is like catnip for lovers of historical fiction.

THUNDER STRUCK

Having the Raven series brought to life by the incomparable Philip Stevens is simply magical. I have been a fan of Giles since the hard back of Blood Eye became available and landed in my lap. I'm loving this journey!
