This was such an unusual book compared to the usual thrillers. I really loved the fact that the author was also the narrator she really brought the story to life. I was enthralled by the actions of Erin and Mark and how it all unfolded, it is easy to see how a seemingly normal couple can be drawn to the dark side. I had a job to stop listening and wanted to keep going until it was finished. At first I could not see how all the pieces fitted together but as it became clearer I had to admit that is was a very clever plot. I can't wait for Steadman's next book.

I would have loved to give this book six stars!

I did enjoy this book but it dragged on and didn’t really give you a clear representation to what happened at the end. Needed the other persons point of view. Don’t want to spoil so cant really say more. A lot of negativity about Narrator but I thought she was good, especially being the author. I’m not going to get a book hangover from this though. I’ll easily move straight on to my next audio book.

Within two minutes I was hooked. Brilliant story and narration. I was intrigued about this writer to see what else she had written- only to discover this was her debut but there were two others I could ( and will) listen to- Also discovered that she is an actress who has narrated her own story so every intonation and inflection she made was exactly what she had written and how she wanted it spoken. Listened to it in less than 3 days. Highly recommend it - perhaps it will be turned into a film (with Catherine starring?) Only issue, not the author or book's fault, but one character is called Alexa and every time her name was mentioned my Alexa App paused the narration and usually said something like "I don't know that one" it would repeat this three times before moving on which was a little distracting
