In a sunlit, secret valley in the green mountains of central Italy, two people meet away from the horrors and clamour of battle. This is so good, cleverly woven story, believable and interesting real characters. Peter Wickham is probably the best narrator I’ve listened to so far, and I’ve listened to many. I can thoroughly recommend this book. Leslie Thomas books depict real life and this is one of his best.
