Summary

For more than twenty years, Kelsey Grammar played the brilliant but fussy psychiatrist Frasier Crane, first on Cheers, then on the wildly successful spinoff, Frasier. During those two decades, Grammer received 17 Emmy nominations, winning four as the psychiatrist-turned-radio host and another one for providing the voice of Sideshow Bob on yet another television classic, The Simpsons

In So Far..., Grammar recounts his life and career in a frank and moving autobiography, covering his tragic family life—the murder of his father and sister and the deaths of his two half-brothers—as well as addictions to alcohol and drugs, that became public. And of course, Grammar discusses his association with three of the most beloved series of all time.

Not Frasier Crane

Kelsey Grammer is a fantastic actor and so, as expected the performance is flawless. Listening to him speak is soothing and he delivers the content well. I wish I could have said I enjoyed the story but sadly I cannot - his story paints the picture of a deeply troubled person, but rather than sympathy, I was left feeling sad for the people left in his wake, blaming everyone else for his poor decisions and terrible attitude and skipping over most of the things listeners might be interested in hearing. He eventually admits some of his mistakes but makes no apologies. A man who thinks rules do not apply to him and that the world (and everyone else) owes him. Perhaps this could be taken as unadulterated honesty but one thing is true… This man is Not Frasier Crane.
