Summary

Mack Taylor has led a charmed life since he left home and the scandal he left behind. His past haunts him and leads him down a path of personal chaos. Nightmares plague him until he is forced to face the choices he's made. In an attempt to right the wrongs of his past and find a way to move forward with his life, he returns home to beg for forgiveness.

Meghy Watkins never left her hometown, and instead abandoned every plan she made. She's become a borderline recluse and barely leaves her home. Delivery and the internet have become her best friends. She has trouble letting go of her insecurities and can't forget the one person she's always loved.

Fate has a plan, and Mack and Meghy won't be left with much choice in the end. It'll come down to one decision, and the right one will bring them unimaginable happiness.

Clean contemporary quickie

Sometimes you have to go home to start over. Sometimes going home can open up new possibilities and clear old hurts. These two former best friends find out that time is no deterrent to the friendship they had built over years.

Narrator did the job for the females but missed the mark for males. Mack sound more feminine than male.

Sweet Love Story

This was my first experience with any of Dawn Brower's work and although the story was sweet and pleasant, it was a little too simplistic for my taste. The actions that sent Mack Taylor running from his hometown are never discussed in detail. The reasons that Meghy Watkins becomes a borderline recluse are never depicted. The lines for the song, "Winter Wonderland" are cleverly woven throughout the tale. If as a reader you are in the mood for a simple, uncomplicated romance story then this story is acceptable. Renée Maxwell's narration is fine, but not overtly exciting. I accepted a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.
