Emmy was a good girl. At least she tried very hard to be good. She did her homework without being told. She ate all her vegetables, even the slimy ones. And she never talked back to her nanny, Miss Barmy, although it was almost impossible to keep quiet – some days. Honestly, Emmy really was a little too good. Which is why she liked to sit by the Rat. The Rat was not good at all.

For 400 years, I have maintained the rules laid down centuries ago by Born vampires. We stay hidden in the shadows away from humans, and kill our enemies, the Lycans, when they trespass into our territory. A test of my morality comes when a Lycan child crosses our border one day, and instead of killing it, I set it free. I am rewarded by the Lycans, but I have flouted the law I’ve so carefully followed for centuries. I almost believed no one would discover my indiscretion when Arthur, a sinister Hunter tasked with finding vampires who have broken the laws, arrives at our castle. Then my best friend, Olivier, is recruited by Arthur, and I am all but certain I have been discovered. I only have one option left.

I stopped believing in monsters long ago. But I knew I wasn't imagining things when I found one in my kitchen baking muffins. I'd seen him before: lurking in my closet, scaring the crap out of my five-year-old self. Turns out that was a misunderstanding, and now Maurice needs a place to stay. How could I say no? After all, I've always been a magnet for the emotionally needy, and not just in my work as a wedding planner. Being able to sense the feelings of others can be a major pain.

Summary
I wasn't born with a scar on my forehead. I'm not an heir to a distant kingdom. I was born a rabbit. The destiny I was born to was simply to die in a laboratory. But becoming a hero doesn't happen overnight, and destiny is a funny thing. In one moment, the kindness of a stranger - or, in my case, a vampire - can change everything.
My name is Snow, and I am a wererabbit.
Snow Everly was born a rabbit and believed that her destiny was to die in a cold laboratory. Then one winter night, a vampire breaks in searching for his missing research. When the lab goes up in flames, he goes back and rescues her. When she turns three years old, Snow gains the ability to shift into a girl. Why was she created? Who and what are the mysterious figures following her? Follow Snow on her journey as she searches for the answers. Snow's dream is to one day become a hero, and above all else, she wants to be accepted for who she is - a wererabbit.

Quite engaging!
If you could sum up Snowball in three words, what would they be?
Wererabbit, vampires, and evildoers.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Snow, because you get to see the story mostly from her perspective - and she's awesome!
What does Erin Evans-Walker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Erin reads with a lot of empathy for the characters, both good and bad. I tend to skim and read things with less feeling than she evokes. I get a better escape listening.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, I found it emotionally engaging. While I didn't break out in tears or guffaws, it was certainly poignant, gripping and funny.
Any additional comments?
I really liked both the story and the narration. And while Snow is my "favorite" character, I really liked the parental storyline, as well. Can't wait for the next escapades!

Wascally Werewabbit! It's Wabbit Season!
Zeman writes one hell of a story, even if it is a little slow. The pace is set by all the buildup that it takes to get the setting and characters up to speed. Once it hits that point the story flies by like a rabbit on meth. Snowball goes from being a bullied bunny to the rabbit from Monty Python at the end, so it is worth sticking it out for the ride. The book is sort of a modern acceptance tale, her two dads are vampires, and unlike in the TV show by that name they are gay. Snow is berated and bullied, and musch of the delay in the story deals with her just trying to find a place to sleep and how to deal with her tormentors. As the father of a child who was constantly bullied in his younger years I really connected with snow over this issue. The end battle is well worth the time it takes to put in to get to that point. The story is well written, and it is touching and heartbreaking in some spots. I most be becoming a softie in my old age as this is not a book I would have read 10 years ago.
Erin Evans-Walker really steals the show here. She takes our little lab experiment and makes her real and sympathetic. Her portrayals of the other characters all standout. I am not normally a fan of female narators, unless of course the protagonist is female, but I think I could listen to her read a "manly" book and be happy.
I will certainly be looking for the next book as soon as it hits audible. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.
If this review helped, please press the YES below. Thank you immensely!!!

wonderful story
Would you consider the audio edition of Snowball to be better than the print version?
I like them both, but the audio version will allow me to listen any time.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Snowball?
This story has all the elements of a great science fiction piece. The main characters are well defined and very likable. The story has a great amount of imagination and nail biting bad people. I look forward to listening to the other books when they become available. This is a great story for anyone..
Have you listened to any of Erin Evans-Walker’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
the Wererabbit chronicles.

Delightfully suspenseful, witty and enjoyable!
What did you love best about Snowball?
The characters are wonderful, intriguing, and interestingly different from the usual vampire/werewolf stories.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Snowball?
One of the most memorable moments for me was when Snowball, the bunny first shifted into Snowball the little girl and how delighted she was and how horrified her adoptive vampire father reacted.
Which character – as performed by Erin Evans-Walker – was your favorite?
Erin Evans-Walker performs all the characters perfectly, but having read the book prior to listening to the audible, I was especially delighted with her performance of Snow. Most of the book is written in the first person, Snow, and Erin captures her beautifully and exactly the way I pictured her from my reading.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There are serious moments in the story, but it is also peppered with laugh out loud moments. The humor is easy, witty and very human.
Any additional comments?
Snowball is a series of books...4 so far. I've read and enjoyed all of them. Listening to the first book has whetted my appetite to hear the others.

Fun, but it ended abruptly
I loved the reality of this book. Kind of an odd statement, considering it's clearly about a wererabbit. When I say reality, I mean the things our main character, Snow, deals with. Yes, she's a wererabbit, but she has to cope with the same kinds of things normal children do. Self-identity, interests, social failures and successes. And being a rabbit, of course.
Okay, maybe that last one isn't normal to deal with, but still.
My only real criticism of this book is that what felt like the real main conflict didn't start until over halfway through the book. Don't get me wrong, I loved the atmosphere and tone of events leading up to it, but when things really started to get really troublesome...the book ended.
I'm glad to know there are more books intended for this series. The sudden ending left me with a sort of brand new plot thread that has only been cast on and not woven in. It's a dangling line that's much looser than I'm accustomed to in books.
Overall, this is a solid and enjoyable read, and I look forward to more!
