Summary
Parks and Recreation meets The Blue Collar Comedy Tour in this third book in Molly Harper's Bluegrass series of contemporary romances: A love triangle of colleagues heats up the winter lodge where they get snowed in for a week. Kentucky Tourism Commission employee and executive assistant extraordinaire Kelsey is known around the office for having everything under control. So it's not surprising that she and her boss, Sadie, have everything planned to the second for the office winter retreat. But there are things even Kelsey can't micromanage. An unprecedented snowstorm smothers half of Kentucky and knocks out the power, closes the roads, and generally shuts down the state. Luckily, the lodge has working fireplaces and enough food to keep the staff from turning on each other like something out of The Shining.
Kelsey wouldn't mind being stuck inside if it wasn't for the tension with her not-so-secret crush, Charlie, the office's statistician. But handsome Ranger Luke, the lodge's only employee on hand, is there to take Kelsey’s mind off her discomfort. Even though this weekend is supposed to be a planning session for KTC, Kelsey can’t help her mind from wandering and finds herself conflicted over Luke and Charlie. Someone's love will keep her warm, but whose will it be?

Well written and utterly forgettable
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No - I tend to recommend most of her other books to my friends but this, and admittedly the other two in the series, simply do not hit the mark for me. They are an enjoyable read for your public transport wait - but by the end of the story I had already forgotten the beginning.

Kentucky, at least we are not Arkansas...
Would you listen to Snow Falling on Bluegrass again? Why?
You can not NOT listen to it again. It is a hoot. It is better than the previous two of bluegrass books and I really liked those.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Snow Falling on Bluegrass?
I rather like the geek pod, so I would say the part at the end where they take revenge. Sorry, more info would be spoiler danger.
Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favourite?
She is queen of narrators. I preffer English accented narration most of the time, but this is American book by American author and she has lovely accent and just great voice. All Molly Harper books are narrated by her and I think it makes them even better than written form. She is perfect! You forget straight away it is read by one person only!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It is more of a funny book, so I was laughing rather that "aaaaaawwwwing" I did want to strangle Kelsey's ex a lot though. No, no... More of the boxing his ears over and over and over and over... again. No, strangle... no wait...
Any additional comments?
You do not need to listen to these books in order, although it is better if you are considering this one. However, this one is really my favourite from the lot.

Steamy snow romance
Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favourite?
Kelsea but Amanda Ronconi always get into her characters.
Any additional comments?
Kelsea has been in a bad relationship for years. Three long years of putting up with sub-human behaviour from a man who calls her mother every time they argue. She’s also been madly in love with a colleague for years and although she has maintained a friendship with him he has started to act a little weird around her.
When the group gets stuck in the snow on a team bonding holiday they are forced to get along and Kelsea finds two men are competing for her attention. Should she go for dependable, honest, and gorgeous Luke or should she wait around for Charlie to make a move?
This is, in Harper’s usual style, funny, sweet, charming, filled with naughty scenes, and fully satisfying as romance novels go. The build-up and conflict are the perfect accompaniment to a happy ever after ending that leave you smiling for the rest of the week.
The thing that really draws me to this author is her character creation. She makes realistic, humorous, flawed, honest characters that most if not all women can relate to. Using a first person narrative style she really makes the character come alive. Kelsea is another great example of that skill.

Molly Harper: Still Good
This is a bit of a review for all Molly Harper books. I've listened to maybe 4-5 of Harper's books all narrated by Amanda Ronconi, and I've enjoyed all of them. Harper is great at writing very relatable main characters. All have little minor quirks or flaws and all have at least one or two relatable-amazing specialities (This character is great at organization) And all have always had 1-2 awful relationships before the book starts that give them a better appreciation of the man they get in this book.
And let's not forget the humor.
The humor is what get's me coming back every time. The characters are just so likeable, and never take themselves too seriously. They are just fun people that you would love to hang out with, even if you don't personally get to be with the man meat
This isn't high-end literature, but it is a fun romp each and every time. This book is no different. enjoy!

Sure Kelsey makes poor choices, who doesn't?
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you love Molly Harper, you'll love this. People say that they can't believe that Kelsey makes such poor choices.....Well that's how we learn. And what good would the story be if everything went smoothly. I had lots of laugh out loud moments. (almost a given with Molly Harper).
What was one of the most memorable moments of Snow Falling on Bluegrass?
So many, but I don't want to give away anything. But one is when Kelsey and Charlie over hear Bonnie and Will talking......it really got me.
Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Amanda Ronconi is a great narrator and I've listened to her do other stories, but she does all of Molly Harper books fantastic.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No crying just laugh out loud moments. Molly Harper writes to entertain, if you want deep thinking and tragic moments with reason and philosophy, read something else. Molly Harper is pure fun.
Any additional comments?
I have every audible that's out there from Molly Harper and narrated by Amanda Ronconi....Love them and look forward to more.

Listened for Fun (Audible)
Overall Rating: 4.00
Story Rating: 3.75
Character Rating: 4.25
Audio Rating: 4.50 (not part of the overall rating)
First Thought when Finished: Snow Falling on Bluegrass by Molly Harper is my favorite in the series. It had all the fun, snark, love, and friendship that is signature Molly Harper. I enjoy the friendships almost as much as the romance!
Audio Thoughts:
Narrated By Amanda Ronconi / Length: 6 hrs and 7 mins

Finally Kelsey story!
Would you consider the audio edition of Snow Falling on Bluegrass to be better than the print version?
I love to read books too. But Amanda Ronconi is an amazing narrator, and she makes the story and characters come to life. And the witty delivery is always the best, much better than my inner voice, so I will always choose the audio book first.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Snow Falling on Bluegrass?
I don't want to give way any spoilers.
But pillow forts, confrontations in doorways and epic popcorn revenge was truly amazing.
What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?
Everything, as always.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Kelsey finally know her own self-worth.
Any additional comments?
A well written story, it really does one of my favorite characters justice, one of the best from Molly Harper.

Awesome narrator-- Good story
I LOVE the narrator, Amanda Ronconi. I also like this author very much though lately I feel like she is just going through the motions. Yes, it was an entertaining and cute book and I enjoyed it. However, it was short and a little formulaic. I just know Molly Harper can do so much better!!! I'll keep buying her books but I hope she gets out of this rut soon.

Takes me back
I can so relate, having grown up in the very places in the book and having Southern in-laws. Molly Harper is a wonderful author, spinner great, realistic characters full of fire, wit and flaws. Amanda Ronconi is brilliant. I will listen to anything she narrates because she's just that great.
This book follows the Bluegrass formula, but that's ok. Sometimes we need great, fun characters we know to struggle and have a happy ending.

Another winner for Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi
Another winner for Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi a wonderful combination of the right Author and Narrator . . . once again Amanda's narration lends it's self perfectly to Molly Harper's characters and writing style to produce another great story. If there is one thing i had issue with was that this visit ended too soon, but like all her stories it will be revisited many times until the next installment
This is the 3rd is this series (sorry not vampires or werewolves in sight). I suggest you start with book one if you wish to enjoy and fully understand the rich interaction between the characters and their full back-stories. I normally prefer scfi or fantasy but have been known to wander into other genres if the author / narrator / or story grab my interest.
Well worth the price/credit and time
Thank you Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi for yet another wonderful escape.

Molly Harper has become one of my most favorite writers. This story is sweet, sassy, funny, and just a little bit of naughty. Of the three in this series, this is my favorite. I have listened to two other series by this author and have loved all three. I can't wait to hear or read my next Molly Harper book. Happy listening!
