Summary

Kat only wanted to be part of the convention on how to write successful books, not solve a murder that took place there - the murder of a beloved “tell-all” author. Was that the motive?

Greed, revenge, and hatred are also reasons to murder, at least to people who live on the slippery edge of sanity. Parsons who gamble, women who blackmail, and a number of people with outsized egos make for most interesting characters.

And yet, even with the worst of human nature, miracles can happen.

If you like to feel good at the end of a book, with maybe a tear or two and a smile, don’t miss this inspirational story with plenty of dogs, food, and recipes.

Small Town Murder is the seventh book in the Midwest Cozy Mystery Series. The author is a USA Today best-selling author and Amazon All-Star.

Writing can be deadly

This is the first book featuring this character that I have listened to but it won't be the last. I liked the mystery and was surprised by the killer at the end. The book starts with the murder and then introduces you to a number of suspects and motives behind the murder, including the killers. I would say the characters were like able but I wish the killer had been a different character because I didn't like her or what she was doing. Otherwise it is an easy to follow fun cosy mystery. The murder did have a few of the characters changing for the better, so it had that feel good factor too. .
Kat has joined a number of local authors for a speaking engagement encouraging new authors to follow there passion. It is being hosted by her good friend. So when one of the guest speakers is killed in her dressing room her friend asks Kath to help. The writer had written a tell all book about a bad marriage and her struggles to over come it, which thrust her into the limelight when Opera invited her into her show. Is the husband behind the death because she made him look a fool?.or did her celebrity status gain her a stalker? Kat needs to find out if she hopes to catch a killer. But asking questions could put a target on her own head.
I liked the narrator. She used her voice well to create the different characters and make the story entertaining.
