About this listen

Once upon a time, a princess was betrayed, and her kingdom was stolen from her. She hid her most precious object in the human world, a princess of the blood, in the hopes that the Sleeping Court would get a chance to take their rightful place as high court in the realm Faerie.

Now, a new generation has come of age, and the crown must be passed. The reigning queen’s daughter will claim the throne uncontested unless those who remember and waited to awaken the wayward princess can ally with her.

But as with all tales of Faerie, it is not without peril, danger, and intrigues. For our sleeping princess must awaken and must choose her guard wisely, one that will help her save all her allies and avenge her family.

Or history will repeat itself.

A reverse-harem romance.

OK, so I nearly DNF'd this - it felt very similar to a well known vampire RH series and the first time she meets any of her guard read like a list of cliches that made me uncomfortable.

BUT

There are some fabulous ideas in here (I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sentient house - never come across it before either) and as more characters are introduced, they become more complex, the intrigue and manouvering ramps up and before I knew it I was downloading the next in the series. Overall well worth the listen and I'll probably buy the e book, too.

Stick with it

Have you ever read a shorter novel that digs deep Into your mind and won’t let go? This is one of the ones that did this for me. There is plenty of heat and drama plus a healthy dose of chemistry. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series to see if it is just as good.

Fantastic

loved this book/audio! I'm not ashamed to say, but I neglected my poor family, I was just too engrossed. I did blush though.......note to self, make sure you're COMPLETELY on your own when not using headphones. I think I traumatised my teenage son (lol). ok the book...... story, yep I loved it completely. characters...... again I thought they were fantastic. nothing at all to hate. narration......... I enjoyed that too, but it weirded me out a little at first, was that a southern tinge I heard? but I could honestly listen to Joshua Macrae recite a telephone directory. so yeah, I'm off for a really cold shower. thank you

oh my gosh!

Slumber is an excellent start to an entertaining a new reverse harem fantasy romance series. The main character, Verity, gets launched into an entirely new world, the Fae Court. Verity, a fae princess has to fight for her throne on The Sleeping Court. The men are all intriguing, each holding a distinct but significant role in the Court and Verity's life. Several supporting characters are introduced, most are well-developed and charming.

Interestingly, the book is narrated by a guy. That being said, Joshua Macrae's performance is fabulous, bringing the characters to life. Overall the storyline is an entertaining and a great intro to the series. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
