Summary

In a world filled with terror they needed a hero...so, they became one themselves. They’ll fight for survival - and they’ll fight even harder for love. There’s a place from my nightmares. A place where bad things hide. The memories kept me awake for most of my life. But it’s not what keeps me awake anymore.

It’s her.

She calls me, desperate and pleading. Like a shining star I can’t quite find. I feel those men from my nightmares coming for her. Only she can’t sense them - she can’t see.

Not the past.

Or the future...unlike me.

Until one day, as I stood in a doorway in the barren wasteland in Afghanistan with my squad at my back, my star dimmed and sputtered out.

I have two holes in my chest now. One which bears her name. I have to find her. I pray I’m not too late. First I have to find the others, two more guys like me. Together we seek a North Star. One we were born half in love with. Leading us back home.  Without ever knowing we were lost at all.

Sixth is the enthralling first book in the series. The romance comes together in the next book.

Great Sci Fi Series

I’m so glad this is series because this is totally enthralling and I want more. Sixth is an emotional and psychologically disturbing audio but really good in a way. The story was well thought of! Great!

I love Sixth

This is great starter for an amazing new series from this awesome author. Mark also known as Sixth. He always has these visions of a girl whom save him before and needs to find her again. I love this story.

Great characters

This audio has great characters especially Sixth. It must be hard for him to be in his situation but he bravely faced everything he needed to face. Wounded, he knows he needed to be saved again. He needed to come home.

Very intriguing

This is a very intriguing audio. We can listen about Sixth’s childhood and how everyone thought he was crazy. His parents sent him somewhere he couldn’t remember and all he knows is a purple-haired girl saved his sanity.

Confusing, but intriguing series starter

A young boy who has dreams about a girl that he is sure he is destined to be with. He isn't sure where she is or how they will get together so he continues to live his life and he goes into service for his country. He is able to use his "talents" to save the men in his group several times. Then he feels her calling him for help and he must go to her, but it means finding two other men that are also attached to her. He does not really understand why, but he will do whatever it takes to save her. Bottom Line: Might want to wait and do the first two books at the same time as this one by itself is more of a cliffhanger.

Sixth's backstory

This is Sixth's backstory, of how he became who he is and his search for Tex, Shadow, and Purple Hair. He has always been different, and his life difficult. But all these trials will prepare him for the coming battle. A great listen.

Great start of a series

Ironically I read Oleander before getting this and yet I was not completely lost with the storyline, although it did make things click in my head about certain things. I really enjoyed listening to Mark aka Sixth's story and the narrator did a wonderful job of making him so lifelike.

Loved it! Great to listen to

This audio is really great! I honestly can say it's been awhile since I have listened to one that really really engrossed me. This one did. I spent the day doing listening to it. Plenty of action and emotion . Kept you on edge waiting for the Purple haired girl to appear. The character Sixth was written amazingly really could connect to him so looking forward to listening to the rest of this series I will need to buy it in paperback to put on the keep shelve. The narrator Harmon Gamble did a really good job on this smooth to listen to. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
