Summary

Siouca is a member of the advanced Wanderer civilization. What does Siouca want?

The quest to unlock the secrets of interstellar travel leads a Roranian crew on an epic journey across space. Saved by a dying machine-lect, stranded in a failing ship, faced with an ultimate choice. Were they too eager in their attempts to reach the stars?

The fractious Primals are the ancient, all-powerful rulers of the Creatites. Their origins are shrouded in mystery although Storytellers recite their legends. Tallic has recently been granted special abilities by the Barrier Primal that most other Creatites could only dream of, although he has an unexpected encounter with an intruder that changes everything.

What secrets have the Primals kept hidden since time began?

Nurilm resides within a decaying temple. One day, she chances upon forbidden knowledge about an enigmatic entity called the "Collector" and an unthinkable battle waged long ago in which the Primals were united.

What does it all mean? And how is it all connected?

One thing is for certain. Siouca is coming.

A stand-alone novel from the Wanderer universe.

Cerebral sci-fi with an emphasis on the "sci". If you enjoy hard sci-fi, complex space opera, and authors such as Iain M. Banks, Alastair Reynolds, and Dan Simmons, then this is for you.

Really detailed story, well worth the effort

This takes some time to get going and it felt a little confusing at the start but stick with it and you are rewarded with a very sophisticated and well-constructed story, brilliantly drawing together universe (and time) spanning events into a coherent and thoroughly believable story. You need to sit down and focus; this is not one for multi-tasking! I struggled a little with the narration since, in my opinion, it lacked the range of vocal characterisation I feel this book required but maybe I am being overly pedantic. In general, thoroughly recommended.

Intrigue

This was an intriguing storyline, and i enjoyed it. It was confusing at first and a bit bizarre. However by the end of the book was a very bought in reader. This was a great read.

An epic sci-fi fantasy!

The descriptions are thorough and vivid. The story is like a spiderweb...different events and views which interweave to come together in the end with a crescendo that keeps the listener riveted. As each scene moves forward, the intricate tales begin to mesh to create a final outcome that is fantastic and startling! Very well written! Having read the book, listening to the audiobook actually brought out more details that I didn't catch when I read it. Excellent narration! If you love space operas, don't miss out on this gem!
