I finally stopped looking at being single as a "waiting room" for a relationship and decided to actually enjoy my own company. This handbook is exactly what I needed. It’s hilarious, super empowering, and full of ideas I hadn't even thought of—like how to actually enjoy solo travel or host a dinner party for one without it feeling weird. The best part is how it helps you set boundaries with those "helpful" friends who are always trying to set you up. It’s a total mood booster and reminded me that I’m already the "whole package" on my own. If you’re in your solo era (or want to be), you definitely need this in your life!

The book's tone is witty, encouraging, and unapologetically "fabulous". Smith uses relatable anecdotes such as her own "personal revolution" at an upscale restaurant to guide readers toward emotional resilience and "radical self-reflection". "Being single isn’t a pause button... it’s your personal Declaration of Independence served with a side of self-discovery."

Single by Choice serves as both a "safety dance" and a "masterclass in self-confidence". It is a highly practical guide for anyone looking to stop "enduring" solo life and start "savoring" it on their own terms.

I didn't expect this one to hit the way it did. I am currently newly single and have not been a fan of it. So, I picked it up half out of curiosity and half out of frustration, and by the end I genuinely felt like my perspective had shifted in a way I didn't know I needed.
What this audiobook does really well is reframe the parts of solo living that society has quietly trained us to feel embarrassed about — eating at a restaurant alone, traveling without a companion, decorating your home exactly how you want it. Instead of glossing over those feelings with toxic positivity, it actually walks you through how to retrain your thinking around them. It's practical and it's honest.
The traveling single section especially resonated with me. There's something freeing about the idea of experiencing a place entirely on your own terms — no compromises, no negotiating over itineraries, no managing someone else's energy. The book makes that feel like a privilege rather than a consolation prize, and that reframe alone was worth the listen.
Same goes for dining out. What used to feel awkward started to feel like something I could actually enjoy and own.
The narration kept me engaged the whole way through — this is one of those audiobooks that doesn't feel like a chore even during the longer chapters.
If you're single by circumstance or by choice and you're ready to stop apologizing for it, this is your sign. Highly recommend.

A light hearted, humor filled handbook detailing living the single life. This book has some wonderful activities for the single people. I was drawn to this book because I have lived the single life my entire life. I have my friends and family who support my choices most of the time. However, there are are some who still try to find Mr. Right!

I recommend this book to anyone who celebrates the single life! I enjoyed reading this!
