About this listen
Single-minded focus can get you far in business. In love? Not so much…
Presley
Giving up my soul-sucking career and moving to a small town was supposed to simplify my life. It didn’t.
Because relaxing isn’t as easy as I’d hoped it would be. Plus, the hot contractor in charge of my home reno is all kinds of distracting.
Especially when he’s so determined to keep our relationship strictly professional…
West
As a single dad with a military background, I’d seen it all. So, I was prepared for anything life could throw at me. Until her. Presley Holiday is so perfect she almost makes me forget that sleeping with a client is forbidden.
But I can’t afford to make another mistake when it comes to love. Keeping our relationship platonic is the right thing to do. Too bad doing the right thing has zero appeal when it comes to Presley…

Presley Holiday is tired of her life as an investment banker in the city, and so has decided to move to the small town of Dragonfly Lake. The house she bought needs renovating. West Aldridge works for the construction company that’s renovating Presley’s house and he’s in charge of this particular project. As for West, he is a single father with 3 young daughters who works hard to support them. He is up for a new promotion at work and he sees this as his opportunity to make an even better life for himself and his daughters. His attraction to Presley makes this more complicated, as getting involved with her may put his possible promotion in jeopardy. Plus, he feels he has to protect his daughters’ hearts from being hurt if the relationship was to not work out. 😭
I always enjoy Amy Knupp’s small town romances, and this story was no different! Presley and West’s story was fun to read about. It was soo heart warming, and I very much enjoyed the part everyone played in it. The town of Dragonfly Lake is always so cute and filled with small town charm. Seeing Presley finally take a break and build friendships and relationships with everyone in town was a joy to see. Plus, she really built something with West’s daughters and that was adorable to see. Overall, this story was filled with banter, steam, romance, and more. If you love small town romances, you’re sure to also love this! 💕
The Narration by Stella Hunter and Connor Crais was just brilliant! I really adored their performances. They both brought emotions and authenticity to their performances, and they captured the characters personalities soo beautifully!

West and Presley has instant chemistry, but West has three little girls that have has their hearts broken right along with him, and he doesn't want to put them through that again. Presley has had a successful career, but now she longs for a slower pace and the rewards of family, good friends, and true connections.
Their relationship was written with so much care and feeling. The heart, along with the heat, make this a really satisfying romance. West and Presley both have dimension, and you feel their emotions right along with them.
The audio, narrated by Stella Hunter and Connor Crais, is a perfect way to experience their banter and their road to Happily Ever After.

This book is so aptly named. Both characters have been single minded in their pursuit of the thing that drives them – up until now, Presley’s main focus has been excelling at her job and making more and more money to secure her financial future. West’s main driver is his daughters. Everything he does is to keep them safe and happy. I love how fiercely he loves them though it does eventually lead to conflict between him and Presley. They’ve both got emotional baggage that they have to work on and it’s great to see their growth by the end of the book. It’s not super spicy, but when the spice hits, it’s so hot. Connor Crais voicing West definitely turned up the heat.
I loved the small town charm and the found family element woven through the story. It was nice seeing characters from previous books and I especially enjoyed seeing Chloe from book 1 of the Henry Brothers series (the original Dragonfly Lake series). Now I’m itching to go back and read the rest of that series. The support they get from their friends is truly heartwarming – exactly the kind of bond and sense of community that makes the found family trope one of my favourites.
The narration of this book was amazing. Stella hunter and Connor Crais are one-click narrators for me and their performance had me hooked from start to finish. Stella Hunter’s portrayal of the strong, driven Presley was spot on. Connor Crais’s portrayal of the doting single dad had me all gooey and his voicing of West’s 3 adorable princesses – each with her own distinct personality – was such a treat. Both narrators showcased a wide vocal range in their portrayals of the side characters, adding depth to the performance.
If you’re looking for a feel-good story with small town charm, emotional depth, humorous moments, supportive side characters and two main characters that find healing in each other, you need to listen to this book.

The dual narration by Connor Crais and Stella Hunter was a solid 5 stars. They are both very talented narrators and I enjoy listening to both of them.
The conflict in the story was almost entirely West's internal battle, but it was nice that the story also included Presley developing relationships with friends and appearances by additional side characters.
I received a copy of this audiobook at my request and the opinions here are my own.
Excellent dual narration
