Summary

La idea de que jovenes apenas salidos de la adolescencia tengan que ir al frente y sentir sus horrores, crea lo que llamaron una generacion perdida y las causas de ella desde el punto de vista de quienes efectivamente luchaban es el fondo de esta obra magistral, donde la amargura y la resignacion son caracteristicas fundamentales.
Paul Baumer enlisted with his classmates in the German army of World War I. Youthful and enthusiastic, they become soldiers. But despite what they have learned, they break into pieces under the first bombardment in the trenches.
