Summary

You'd think that basically being in charge of love would be an epic job, right? Wrong. Sure, I can blow some Lust into people's faces and watch the show, but I can't actually participate. It gets old, trust me. Same goes for love. I can pass it out like sugar-free lollipops at a dentist's office, but I can't get any love for myself. It totally sucks.

I used to consider myself a hopeless romantic, so why wouldn't I choose to become a cupid? Sounds like a good idea, right? Wrong again. They don't call us stupid cupids for nothing. I'm stuck in this never-ending afterlife where I'm invisible, lonely, and bitter as hell. And yeah, I'm probably responsible for some terrible matchmaking out there. Sorry, not sorry.

All my bad cupid'ing might be why I was exiled from the human realm. You can do only so much before the cupid bosses get all huffy. Unfortunately, my bitterness carried over into the new realm, and then I attacked a fae prince with Love Arrows. Accidentally. Okay, not accidentally. But hey, he deserved it. What I didn't expect was for him to retaliate and hit my ass with some crazy magic mojo strong enough to push me into the physical realm. Whoa.

That's right. This cupid just got a real body. And you know what that means.... Now it's my turn to get some. Love, I mean. Get your head out of the gutter. Wink, wink bitches.

Author's note: This is a medium-burn reverse harem story. It includes explicit language and sexual situations. Intended for audiences 18 years and older. As this is a series, there will be a cliff-hanger.

Unique and interesting

This was a unique take on the Cupid lore. The world building was exceptional the character development was deep and thorough and you definitely came out with your favorites. This is a slow burn so there’s no steam to speak of in the first book at all but it’s definitely set up for the second and third books. No trigger warnings. Definitely recommend this as the beginning to the series and I’m definitely gonna look up the other books in the series.

So funny.

I don’t think I have laughed at a book as much as I did with this from the start it has you giggling.
Emelle is a Cupid although not a good one and she wishes she could feel what others feel even just for a while then things go wrong and she’s hit by a Fae’s magic and the next thing she’s corporeal.
She flees from the palace and goes through a magic barrier landing on another island where she is shot out of the air by an arrow by 3 gorgeous men who thinks she’s a demon sent to spy on them.

This needs 10 stars

I knew from the blurb that this would be good. What I didn’t expect was to get a workout while listening from all the laughter. It had a good amount of heat plenty of humour and characters that you just want to keep forever. Loved this and can’t wait to jump into the next one as this one was fantastic

So Funny!

This book was had me laughing from start to finish, I couln't get enough, I devoured it in one sittiing. ML is hilarious, she's charmingly naive, a trouble magnet and has a heart of gold. When her wish comes true, but it isn't everything she hoped for, there are some serious downsides, and her misadventures are side splitting, I can't wait to start book 2!

Love this!

In a world of many many urban fantasy novels this is funny and original, I really enjoyed it and the narrator Melissa S. really sells the pissed off funny and so so endearing ML. I’m Looking forward to book 2...

Great concept!

At the start of the book, there's a strong similarity to Kristy Cunning's "Four Psychos": the invisible, ghost-like girl who's starved for contact with anyone, the way she initially calls the men "First", "Second" and "Third" much like the numbers 1-4, and the mysterious trials/goal under time-constraints coinciding with the main character's appearance. However the overall setting and creativity manages to set this book apart from that.

I loved the main character's frustrations with love stem from her being a Cupid; watching couples fall in and out of love while being unable to be seen, heard, or touched by anyone. Her inner monologue is great fun too but has a habit of telling and not showing her emotions. She says things like "I'm pissed", "It tastes amazing", "I'm depressed", and "My wing hurts" which is just frustrating. Show me that you feel this way and think these things through your actions!

The character development is great. The main character's new experiences change her throughout the book and she has very believable responses to get surroundings and situation. The guys steadily learn to trust her and cope with her being a little more extroverted than they expected. One of the guys is clearly meant to be "the asshole" but he's taken to such extremes that I genuinely don't like him at all through most of the book. I get that after a while he's tough because he cares, but for a long while it just comes across as cruel. It gets better but I'm reluctant to like this guy now. Hopefully that changes.

Small note: the book is described as a medium-burn, but it's definitely a slow-burn. This book is the characters getting to know each other with her first kiss at the very end. I was kinda disappointed because I expected more, but it did feel right for the characters so I'm not mad about it.

The narrator has a fun voice that conveys emotion well. Some of the accents early on weren't great, but they were very small roles compared to the core characters. Each of the men had a different tone to their voice, which is impressive as they were all voiced by the same female actress as the lead. I also LOVED the voice she used for Arachno. She was so chilling and genuinely creepy. I hope she makes another appearance in the series because she was fantastic.

Sooo funny!

This is such a great and funny story, with a hilarious lead, and dreamy guys!
The narration was really well done - although it was a bit hard to hear when we were hearing Emel'd thoughts, and when was she speaking. But other than that, it was really well done (even the male voices!)

So funny!

I loved this book. I loved the main character. She is so funny and sweetly jaded. I also love the guys! Even not first. The narrator did a good job. I am so glad the author chose to turn this one into a audiobook. I highly recommend this book.

WHY DO AUTHORS DO THIS????

Better Reverse Harems are Trickery Curse of Gods series and Portrait of Pain. Reverse Harems are tricky to do but why is it expected to believe a woman can be bleeding to death but still feel lust from a group of guys who want to hurt her??? It is so frustrating that authors don't know how to ease the main female lead character into the multiple relationships. It starts as a decent story but then it turns stupid when she is being physically harmed and still feels like having sex, turns down help to remove the arrow and the sheer amount of the use of the word "corporal" is utter agony.

Great first book in the Series!

This was my first Raven Kennedy's book and won't be my last. This is a great and intriguing Fantasy Reverse Harem Romance. The story is really well written, the world building is captivating. I love the slow burn between Emelle (ML) and her three men, Ronak (Not-First), Sylred (Second), Evert (Third). The storyline is fast-paced, action packed, and filled with hilarious scenes. Emelle is funny/crazy, strong, and adorable. I love her guys! The story ends with a cliffhanger. Now, I can't wait for the next book in the Series. Melissa Schwairy did an amazing job with the narration. I love her voice!

I hated this tbh

I couldn't get past chapter 2. Skipped around hoping it would get better and.... nope. I found the female lead to be obnoxious and cringy. Also narrator sounds like a middle aged wine mom. Next!

Over the top limp wristed female

The performance was awesome, but the story lacked sustenance. It was decidedly bland and predictable.

The best series!

I just listened to the series a second time and had to leave a review! The story is so unique and you are transformed into the world as you listen. The main character is bubbly and relatable and you can feel the chemistry with her love interests. Also the Voiceover is really fantastic and easy to listen to! I highly recommend!

Not great

Never really got going for me. The main character is an air head and well the book just isn’t to my liking.

Signs of Cupidity

This book is definitely a unique version of a Cupid’s life. Emelle is funny and witty and maybe a little bit of a smart elic. Watching her discover new things that she hasn’t been able to experience in decades was fun to listen to. As well as the three men she fell upon. I really enjoyed this book and am excited to see how the series will continue.
Narration was great! Melissa gave all the characters their own personalities that were so fun to listen to.

My Favorite Series

I've read the books more times than I can count and listening to the author do ML's voice is exactly how I think she would sound. I LOVE this series.
