Summary

The land has become unnaturally quiet. It's as if everyone is waiting for some sign that Xandre can be beaten. That someone will stand up to him, and win.

With Shanti calling the shots, and Cayan's battle know-how, it seems certain that the Chosen can be the catalyst. That they can lead the oppressed to freedom.

But Xandre didn't become the Being Supreme by chance, and he doesn't intend for his rule to be stripped away so easily. He has already started to gather his forces, and with the entire land under his control, gaining a foothold seems impossible.

The final battle is brewing, and the winner is anything but decided.

Narrator can make/break a book great job Caitlin

I have put down a numder of audio books because of bad narration. Not the case here though I have enjoyed reading/ listening to this series. I loved Sanders, he made me laugh my butt off. All of the other characters including the bad As* horse were likeable and enjoyable. Great job K.F Breene, Caitlin. Any news when the audio for Book 6 will be released?

Start this series now! You will not regret it!!!

This was probably the most action packed book of the series. This world that K.F.Breene has created is full of sorrow, ravaged lands, desperate people and the people who are fighting and giving their lives to bring the world back to the beauty it was before! The characters are so diverse with lots of attitude, humor, power in both mind and spirit and above all love for each other. This story is all about fighting for freedom and even though it is not of the world we live in it is full of relatable fears, desires, and shows that anything worth having is worth fighting for! Shanti and Cayan are not just bringing their people together for war but are bringing them together and showing them that no one is alone that stands up and fights! Along with all this K.F. throws in her brand of snark, great one liners and passion! Don't miss out on this series! Start it now and you will not regret it!!!

such a good series

I'm normally not drawn to books with battle but if Breene is writing it , I'm reading it. Her characters are engaging and in a matter of a few sentences I find myself entangled ready for the journey. Thank you for all the laugh out loud moments you've woven so expertly into your stories and the happy endings .

Brilliant, engrossing fight tactics, surprising and sensual.

Cayan and Santi more ever closer to defeating their enemy. Their strength together is amazing. They have gathered many clans to help in the fight. Soon the battle will be over.

I love this series!

This series is absolutely awesome! I love Shanti's horse and Captain Sanders! He is hilarious! They give much-needed comic release to the desperate struggle that Shantei, Cayan and their people are in. The determination and fortitude they show trickles down to everyone especially the honor guard who are also my favorites. the Being Supreme is going down !!!

I love this series!

The way that the characters are written and the way they interact with one another is so complex and well written that they come alive inside my head as I read. The unique training, strategy meetings and battles are so real that I feel like I'm in the story and learning, planning and fighting along with The Chosen. The honor guard and Sanders are my life!
