About this listen

Brian, Nik and Darby—three friends practiced in ennui, binge-drinking, hooking up with strangers and fighting supernatural crime (when Brian's not committing it as a werewolf once a month)—have been sent by Abe Van Helsing (yes, one of those Van Helsings) to try to track down a colleague who has gone missing in London.

As they putz around the city, following any leads that might help them find their British counterpart, they uncover a clairvoyancy smuggling ring, located right in the heart of the financial district. Who's kidnapping all the fortune tellers in Soho, and why? And is it coincidence, fate, or something more sinister altogether that Maeve, a timid trans woman taking time out of her job to track down her birth mother, turns up on the gang's doorstep...and has the uncanny ability to know just what's going to happen next?

This was a really enjoyable story that was massively let down by AWFUL editing. There are a few points where the narrator has clearly lost stack of which character is speaking and will read a line in the wrong voice, something I would usually expect would be reread or edited around. There are moments of silence where again one would expect editing to tighten up.
Worst example however, is a moment about 4-5hrs in where the narrator is unhappy with his reading of a particular paragraph and stops to ask if he can reread the section which he does, all of which is in the audiobook. It really feels like the first pass of the recording was uploaded.
These issues, while sone might consider them minor, really took me out of the story when they happened. I would suggest if you are interested in the story or read/listened to the first installment that you buy the physical book (for now).
tl;dr - a good story, pretty well narated (although hard to give a full and fair review of this) just let down by a total lack of editing.

Great Story, Good Performance Terrible Editing
