Story
A good cop can always spot trouble. That’s why my senses started pinging the moment I met the hottie next door. The neighborhood may never be the same. First, she confuses me for a male stripper and tries to remove my uniform. (The guys on the force will never let me live that down.) And then there’s the breaking and entering. I don’t know what to do with her. My libido has a few ideas of its own, though. Bad, bad ideas.

Story
For Bella, the sweet-talking, free-loving, hip-checking student manager of the Harkness men's hockey team, sex is a second language. She's used to being fluent where others stutter, and the things people say behind her back don't (often) bother her. So she can't understand why her smoking-hot downstairs neighbor has so much trouble staying friends after their spontaneous night together. It should be the most shocking news I’d ever gotten - my boyfriend is getting married. Okay, technically he’s my ex-boyfriend. Two months ago he decided he wanted a break. I still thought he was my happily-ever-after. On any other day, knowing he was gone for good would be the worst thing that could possibly happen. But not today. Because not only is my boyfriend getting married - his bride is my best friend. And they’ve sent me an invitation. There’s no way I’m going to attend. I don’t care if it’s in beautiful Scotland. Nothing and no one could convince me.

Summary
For one night she had everything.
Pro snowboarder Stella Lazarus has always loved her brother's best friend. But the one time she tried to show him, she was shot down faster than you can say "competitor disqualified".
Until one blissful night in Tahoe, when Stella finally gets her man.
Or does she?
In the morning, Stella and Bear wake up to horrible news. The sort that sends them racing back to Vermont, and straight into the arms of guilt and family obligations.
For all of Bryan "Bear" Barry's life, three natural laws held true: his best friend Hank was destined for greatness, Hank's sister Stella was off-limits, and Bear would always manage to negotiate the rocky paths that life threw his way. In the space of two days, that's all shattered.
Bear can't believe he slipped up so badly with Stella. Even if his best friend wasn't lying broken in a hospital bed, it would still be unforgivable. Determined to do better, he devotes himself to his friend's recovery, denying himself the very person he loves. And the very thing he needs.

cute story
I really enjoyed the story, and the narrators were good. Stella was written really well, and had just enough bull-headedness to work in her favor. It was quite aggravating how self-deprecating Bear was about himself. This is my first read in the series, but it was a complete stand-alone.
This is also my first audio by these two Narrators and they worked well together. I did have to speed the audio up a little because I felt that it dragged more than it should for my liking.

Bear YES Stella OK
Talk about making me cry! Ms. Bowen, if that was your intention, then you succeeded ... the chat between Bear and Hank when Hank found out about Bear and Stella being together ... LOVED it! And the epilogue... <3 <3 <3 Perfect ending.
But getting there, it was too much angst, Bear and Stella circling each other, assuming things, causing misunderstandings... I wanted to smack them. Loved her fearless attitude though.
Loved the voices, especially Bear's and will be adding Ms. Wilder and Mr. Harrison to my 'look-for-more' list.

Bear & Stella's Forbidden Romance!
Right out of the gate this story drew me in. Stella was always trying to keep up with her older brother and his best friend. The slopes were their second home. Until the unthinkable happens and Stella is sidelined. Bear is the only one who still treated her normally. Now as adults they are all on the snowboarding circuit trying to make their mark. Bear and Stella have always been close but Bear struggles to feel worthy, especially for Stella. Stella loves Bear even tho he keeps her at arms length. One night on the circuit they face the moment of truth about how they really feel for each other. Will it bring them closer or tear them apart for good? This was an adventurous yet angsty romance. I hadn't read the first stories in this series but this one ran simultaneously with the other stories giving us a glimpse of past events. I really liked Bear and Stella no matter how frustrating they were. I really loved their growth and their eventual reconnection. The narrators did a great job pulling me in and keeping me engaged. I am looking forward to checking out the first books in this series.

4 Adventure Seeking Stars!
Audible Review: I can't tell you how happy I am that this author choose a male and female narrator. Both Noel Harrison and Emma Wilder did a great job with the narration. Really good voice acting from both of them and I would listen to more of their work.
Story Review: This book was about Stella overcoming leukemia as a child, battling the man's world of profession snowboarding to make a name for herself and her life long love for Bear. Then we have her brother Hank who is a celebrated professional snowboarder who suddenly loses his career in a snowboarding accident. And last but not least, Bear. Bear is Hank's best friend and also a professional snowboarder. Bear's career isn't as good as Hank's and not only has to deal with him being dropped from the tour but also trying to be the best friend he can be for Hank, all the while dealing with his infatuation with Stella.
I loved Bear! He was such a great character and even though he kept Stella at arms length for most of the book, he was so good to her. He was protective and respectful with not only her, but really everyone. It seemed he was just a good guy all around.
Stella was a heroine I could respect. I loved that she was just as much of an adventure seeker as her brother and Bear. Plus, she has loved Bear her whole life and instead of wallowing about it she had courage and put herself out there and made the first move...and the second move.
There was a lot of heart to this story. These were good people dealing with real life issues. The author did a good job of providing us with characters that you can respect and want to root for. This is a safe read with no cheating or abuse, plus a really great epilogue.

The story was okay
After so thoroughly enjoying the first two books in this series, I had great expectations for this book. I was disappointed.
The story was okay. Most will think it is fine. But, I felt cheated. So much of it was a different view point of the previous book, Falling from the Sky. Yes, there was more background for Stella and Bear. However, so much of it was told in flashback fashion - a writing tool that is not one of my favorite tools. It worked for the most part, but . . . Well, I didn't find the excitement I had come to expect. Plus we seemed to end up back to something that happened before.
The only "new" stuff to this story that happened AFTER Falling from the Sky was the epilogue. I enjoyed the update on everyone. That is always fun. I would have liked to see more of the time period between the last chapter and the epilogue. It seemed that Hazardous carried this book too.
Stella and Bear were likable enough. The story moved along well. The ending was satisfactory, if predictable. A pleasant enough way to spend an afternoon. I just expected more.
