Absolutely Gripping
Can this get any better? Dolly Rawlins at her best, wiser, more determined, cunning and razor sharp mind. Lynda has excelled in bringing back her character 10 years later. I find myself matching the character to Ann Mitchell.
The only issue that I have is there's no mention of Bella who in the last book had left for Rio.

quality declining
Lynda La Plante usually stands for quality, but these stories are getting a bit dated. Certain stereotypes are just no longer plausible, such as women who are really not smart enough to survive even the slightest challenge. I got a bit fed up with twists and turns as a result of acts of sheer stupidity.

Brilliant, audacious robbery, compelling reading
What a brilliant story to end the widows series, I was hooked from page one, an audacious plan to Rob the mail train, the intricate planning and working every step out, keeps you on the edge of your seat, it's a shame Dolly had to die but a series must end, narration was brilliant and added to the storyline

Fascinating listen!
I'm just going to say right up front that I didn't like the ending. It wasn't anything that I could have been prepared for and it made me sad.
Having said that, we can talk about what a fantastic story it was and how much I enjoyed listening to it. These ladies are so unique and fleshed out you feel like you know them. Each with her own criminal gifts as well as a true heart.
You find yourself rooting for them as they go about the business of planning the next headline grabbing heist. The ups and downs as they interact with each other keep your interest perked and Dolly is a hell of a ring leader. It's obvious that she loves the ladies she's plotting with even if she keeps them in line with a firm hand.
Then they bring in the little girls and you'll find yourself laughing and crying and truly realizing how much love the ladies have to give, how deeply it's been buried and how amazing it is that all that love gets to see the light of day!
