  • Summary

  • Sheltered is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi sitcom, starring Gemma Whelan, Sindhu Vee, Rufus Hound and Marek Larwood. Other parts are played by Wilf Scolding, Alana Ramsey, Felicity Duncan and C Grezo.

It’s been centuries since Armageddon and no one has ever left the bunker that has sustained what remains of civilised human life....

When innocent simpleton Gary and social climber Veronica are sent to explore the world outside, they soon regret ever leaving the safety, soft furnishings and quilted toilet paper of Fallout Shelter 7421.

As they reluctantly join forces with the (frankly unjustifiably) arrogant pirate, Lady Reaver, to find their way back, they are forced to reckon with a wasteland of hellishly psychotic robots, hairy radioactive mega-badgers, and slavering cannibals.

Disaster strikes when they are captured by slavers and thrown into a prison cell. There they meet up with deluded, self styled pirate queen Lady Reaver (Sindhu Vee) and her hideously deformed mutant Clump (Marek Larwood).

Despite their collective incompetence, they escape, but Veronica and Gary are now lost in the desolate wilderness of post-Armageddon Britain. How will they ever get back to civilisation?

Awful. This is truly dire.

Was this supposed to be a comedy? It reminded me of the insipid tripe that passes off as comedy sometimes on the midmorning radio 4 schedules. Listened to about half an hour, and it was neither gripping as a drama or funny as a comedy. Reminded me of those average all round cricketers, who claim to be able to both bat and bowl but can, in fact, do neither very well. I've not lost interest in an audio book so quickly after starting it. Just glad it was free.

not even remotely funny

Finished two episodes to give it a reasonable chance. The story is extremely thin and the mild attempts at social sarcasm just are too obvious to even raise smile. Avoid.

Shame there are not more episodes!

Great acting from the cast, they made the journey really enjoyable. Bizarre story that was a romping ride, highly entertaining. Only issues was with the psychiatrist episode as it was sometimes difficult to make out what the robots were saying. but overall a great podcast. Shame there are not more episodes...yet.

Could be interesting.

18 seconds in and I'm confident I've found what I've been looking for since finishing the Bobiverse. And it's British 👍 Will update once finished.

Fallout meets Red Dwarf, daft apocalyptic hilarity. Brilliantly produced and acted out.

Look forward to the next installment!
