Summary

Please note: This audiobook is in Spanish.

Very Interesting

A history everyone should know. The European diaspora who live in the USA are living on territory acquired through the destruction and forced removal (ethnic cleansing) of other human beings

Recommended

Most of the book is a good read, except some parts get down on the weeds and could have been edited out. This should be taught in schools, and if not, why not.

very interesting

Excellent book on the complex origins of what became the Trail of Tears. History is never as black/white as we think and unfortunately often repeats itself.

Impressive Book

Some historical facts that are not well known are presented. Of interest to me was the explanation of the political and ideological differences of the Native Americans subjected to this travesty. Well written but sometimes a little too much detail.

Sticks With You

It provides a lot of insight into the Cherokee Indian culture and the horrific campaign that would become known as the Trail of Tears. It's a journey I wish we all had the courage to take. I'm glad this book is finally available on Kindle. You will be, too.

Excellent overview

The book takes a cursory tour of history up to the time of the Trail of Tears then makes a more illustrative turn as it settles into describing the rift created within the Cherokee tribe surrounding their dilemma.

Incredible

This is a great book to learn about a part of history that is rarely talked about. This audiobook is filled with facts but listens like a story. A very sad story, but tells you the true story behind the Cherokee's removal.

Cool audio

The book is filled with an abundance of facts, dates, and sources and will be a wonderful selection if you enjoyed your college history book. Captivating History's Trail of Tears is definitely historically relevant, but I found it to be very dry.

Concise, colorful and full of info

This book is written in an extremely accessible style: more like a novel than an academic history, and thus can be enjoyed by just about anyone. It offers valuable information about the political turmoil, in the US and in the Cherokee Nation, that surrounded removal.

Truly insightful

This is the most complete information on the subject that I have found. The author put much research into the project to give an accounting of a shameful time in this country.
