If you want a good life, read this book

His coaching helped me turn around a bad habit. What I really appreciate about his methods is that he breaks things down to fundamentals and strategies that make it easier to take on change. That's important because self-discipline is something a lot of us have failed with in the past.

Informative and Helpful

Self discipline is an essential personal tool for success in any endeavor. You need will power to exert self control and you also need self control to exert will power. From this book I have learned how to control my negative urges and I am already noticing positive changes in my life such as better finances,positive attitude changes and am also more happy now. You need to have discipline in health,money,harmful substances,time management and others.

self discipline is the key

I have listen this book several times, and I realize that I still have many shortcomings in self-discipline. In this book, there are many things to help me be more serious about my own life, it guides how to develop self-discipline for each individual and the benefits that can be gained if applying self-discipline in life is outlined in this book too. Positive Attitude and Willpower

Amazing book!! I liked his writing style - simple and encouraging. Lots of actionable advice.I expected this book to be like any other self-help read. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book provided not only practical advice but also reasonable steps to carrying out methods to achieve building self-confidence.

A Whole-hearted 5 stars from me!

This is a powerful work that is both inspiring and uncomfortable to read. It is uncomfortable, if you are really thinking about it, because it presents a brutally honest level of self examination and uncompromising standard for self improvement. Paradoxically sufficient exposure also, in my case, had a calming effect in that it feels embarrassing, even comedic, to get so worked up about stuff

Perseverance!! Willpower

This book was absolutely amazing; I purchased the audio version and was able to listen to it everyday during my work commute. I especially loved how the book touches on specific areas to help develop discipline and after each chapter the author reviews the main take-aways. The tips are very realistic and worth trying out. I have improved my self-discipline so much since reading this book. Willard has a wonderful way of connecting the dots between the worlds of theology, philosophy, and practicality. This book really does get to the heart, or the spirit if you will, of the disciplines and why we must employ them if we want to truly change. Prepare to be both enriched and stretched.

Useful tools here

This book contains practical insights how self-discipline makes you more healthier and happy. It is full of great advises and tips how we can avoid temptation of eating unhealthy foods and how we can handle our cravings. I actually enjoy reading this book, I've learned a lot of things that may help me achieve my desire body weight which is hard for me to do before.

Accessible, Practical, Usable

This book although short is packed with tremendous value. I like reading the author's books because they are straight to the point and practical. In this book he writes about writing, which he is qualified to write about because he's a best-selling author and have written multiple books.

great book for Self Discipline.

Self-Discipline can be a tricky thing. For both my clients and me, it’s often the thing we fight against the most but when we have it in any aspect of our life, we are the happiest. This book not only explained this phenomenen but gave some simple yet powerful insight into how change is possible. As elusive as self-discipline can be, I felt for the first time it’s doable.

Practical advice that works!

I like the author's style because I got top quality information in a succinct and powerful way. I start each day listen a daily passage from this book. I learned about this book from a friend who, in my opinion, is self-disciplined. This book helped me realize the source of my successes and failures. The difference is that his books teach me how to set into action those things that are wise to do.

Very helpful toward self improvement

I love the fact that this book is broken into daily readings. I start each day reading a daily passage from this book. A lot of what's in this book really resonates with me and helps to give me a new or different perspective on forming self-discipline.

best parent guide

I found this book so helpful that I purchased it for all the mothers in my playgroup. In helping parents to be kind but firm, assertive but not aggressive, compassionate but not permissive, Jane Nelson inspired me to be the parent I want to be. She helped me look to the root of my children's misbehavior and address what was causing my child to be unhappy rather than trying to just address the behavior.

This book is changing my life little by little

Quick listen and great tips. The narrator could be slightly less dry on the audio tape but overall the book has important pointers. Every thing from cold exposure to intermittent fasting... This book says something slightly different from other self help books.

Guide on methods to build self discipline.

I have listen a lot of self help books, blogs and articles that focus on "how to" develop good habits that stick. While most of what I have read provides a few nuggets or good ideas that I can use for myself or share with others who I help as part of my job, none have impressed me enough to adopt the whole system.
