About this listen

Kayla

Ryan Richmond and I have spent every Christmas since we were kids in the same snowy Alpine village. As we grew, so did our chemistry.

On our eighteenth winter, we made a ‘festive friends-with-benefits’ pact: take advantage of our limited time together, then wave goodbye with no strings attached.

Those two weeks were the highlight of my year. Until, without warning, Ryan stopped coming here for the holidays. It broke my heart, and I’m determined not to waste another winter pining over him.

Ryan

The best things about Christmas are snow, skiing, and sneaking around with Kayla McInnes.

My oldest friend is funny, adventurous, and gorgeous. She's everything I'd want in a partner, if only she didn’t live half a world away.

We always agreed a long-distance relationship was pointless, but saying goodbye got harder and harder. I thought if I stopped visiting, I’d get over her. But I was wrong.

I can’t stay away anymore. And I’m hoping this year we can make winter last forever.

I read this book on Kindle when it was released last year and didn’t think I could love it more - but I was wrong - the audio is even better! Shane and Zara are absolute perfection as Ryan & Kayla and had me laughing, sobbing and gasping! What a brilliant story this is from Holly June Smith! 🤩

Here’s my original review as well - it holds perfectly true… but times it by 100 for this audio perfection!:-

This is how you do friends to lovers! The pining, the heat, the adorableness!

At points I was breathless, weeping, laughing, bouncing in my seat and sobbing into my Prosecco!

I loved ‘Can I Tell You Something’ (the first book in the series - both on Kjndle & in Audio,) but ‘See You Next Winter’ is next level! The writing is flawless, the setting is sweeping and so romantic, the characters are real and raw and believable and so damned endearing, their love simultaneously heartbreaking and uplifting. Don’t get me wrong, this is a fluffy, adorable, unputdownable read, but with all the fuzzy feels and a wholly satisfying HEA.

What a wonderful, perfect, festive romance read ! ❤️

It’s even more perfect in audio!

Friends with benefits get more serious in this festive romance. A quick listen (but don’t put on speakerphone!)

Great festive romance

So, I have listened to both stories and loved them both. This is so much spicier, but honestly I think it's got more heart too! I listened to this in a day, lucky me! I even had a couple of tears too. The narrators have done a fantastic job, having the other characters come in as well was just brilliant. I read along a little too but honestly I don't think I'd have got Kayla's voice right in my mind. Zara's interpretation of her gave her more warmth and fragility. This is honestly such a great story, but do listen to them both because Holly June Smith is a fantastic author and deserves your time!!!
