“Half mythological fantasy, half instructional manual on witchcraft and esoteric philosophy”
There are no small lives, only small souls.
Tasked by Fate to interview the formidable goddess Hekate, writer Zara finds herself navigating a labyrinth of divine secrets, ancient magic, and dangerous truths. What begins as a simple interview quickly becomes something far more perilous as Zara is drawn deeper into the shadowed world of gods, witchcraft, and forgotten myths.
As she uncovers Hekate’s lessons, Zara must also confront her own struggles: a debilitating chronic illness that keeps her largely confined to home, a complicated history with the god Hades, and a shocking revelation about the true origins of her soul. A truth powerful enough to reshape destiny itself. One that could either save those she loves or condemn them all to the shadows.

Mariani has done an incredible job voicing all of the characters - her accent work is fab! I loved the addition of the sound for story time, too.
I recommend you give it a listen!
Fab narration and a refreshing retelling

Mythology and witchcraft are right in my wheelhouse, and this one hit the spot. What I loved most is how it teaches while it tells a story. The "lessons" are woven in, so I found myself learning about magic, signs, and animals without it ever feeling like a lecture. The gods go beyond the Greek ones too, so there's always someone new to meet.
The narrator, Alexis Mariani, makes it. She gives the story real life, and it kept me listening long past when I meant to stop. The chapters run about 20 to 27 minutes, so it's easy to enjoy in short sessions. Zara is a main character with a chronic illness, and I appreciated seeing her portrayed that way.
If you love mythological fantasy, Hekate, or anything that blends story with spirituality, this is a great listen. 🌙
