Bad narration
The narration ruins an otherwise lovely story, the main character sounds far too young and it comes across a bit creepy!

Loved it.
I really got into this book from the beginning to the end. It enthralled me to the point I was not sure if this was going to disappoint me with the ending so near. But as with most Julia Quinn’s books, it kept me guessing until the end. If you are a fan of Julia Quinn’s books, then I am sure this will not disappoint.

Awful narration tainted the story
My goodness, what terrible narration! It was delivered in a ridiculous monotone which sounded half-drunk and slurred throughout. It was like listening to an aged aunt reading to you after a bottle of her strongest sherry. The characters were read in a stilted and unlikeable way, completely ruining Julia Quinn’s perfectly adequate story.
I have listened to most other Julia Quinn books on Audible and they have, without exception, been enriched by Rosalyn Landor’s outstanding narration. Perhaps this has just exaggerated how badly this book has been read. I have no doubt that I would have liked the book far better had it also been read by Ms Landor. What a pity!

I listened to this story way into the early hours, didn’t want to stop. That doesn’t happen often. Thank you for hours of entertainment.

Great story
This was a nice story spoilt by poor narration. Julia Quinn’s writing was predictable but amusing. It kept me engaged and I was always keen to listen to the next chapter. Why this narrator was chosen I don’t know!? She lacks cadence and it can mislead the listener’s comprehension of the scene.

listened to it multiple times
This has to be one of my favourites by Julia Quinn.
So well written, so lovely. True love story.
Initially, I disliked the narration, but it mustn't be too bad for the fact I've listen to this story multiple times and it never gets old.

Great story but terrible narrator
I'm a big fan of Julia Quinn but this book was sadly let down by the terrible narration. Her voice was monotonous and hard to listen to.

The end, already?
I do happen to like almost everything Julia Quinn writes, but I was really surprised to notice I'm unsure and anxious about the end. All the author's stories end well, they always do live happily every after. But for the first time I questioned how it could possibly end well. I did like that. The internal struggle of the main male character and the female ugly duckling make sure you stay up until early hours.
It's good to read this book in its historical context, the Regency time fashions and general customs. The main characters are instantly enriched this way as they act accordingly.
I loved the book and would love to stay with Turner and Miranda longer.
