  • Summary

  • It's barely a few months since the shambling dead began to rise.

Now nine people are trapped together in an English country house by the zombie horde outside. There's a journalist, a student, a professor, a surgeon, a housekeeper, a math teacher, a bank clerk, a taciturn Scotswoman, and a celebrity actor. They are strangers to each other. There would be no reason for any of them to harm the others. And yet... before their first night in the house is over, one of them will be dead, and it will be clear to the others that among their number is a murderer.

Set in the universe of the worldwide best-selling app Zombies, Run!, this is a murder mystery like no other. Why would anyone still want to kill a fellow human, even after the zombie apocalypse? And having started, can they be stopped? The desire for vengeance, after all, is the way of all flesh.

Beautifully crafted story!

Great to see Zombies Run on this platform after having used the running app many years ago :)

This was a shorter segment than I would have wanted, and got a little confusing with the character voices / accents. But overall - still as awesome as the original :)

Creepy and exciting!

This was amazing! A murder/mystery set in a Zombie post-apocalyptic world... I felt it was a little easy to get a suspect, but the twists and turns were pretty fun as well! too bad there wasn't much od Sam Yao (I'm a big fan of his character).

I hope Naomi Alderman writes and produces more of this, it was brilliant!

Highly entertaining

A brilliant murder mystery in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Very clever writing and the cast of narrator, along with the sound effects really did it justice! I definitely recommend it.

Cluedo meets Poirot in the zombie apocalypse!

I found this very entertaining, perhaps some of the negative reviewers were expecting something grittier. Very comedic with a smattering of murder mystery tropes and some unexpected poignant moments. There was also a Steven Universe reference which, as a fan, made me very happy to know that the cartoon will endure the zombie apocalypse! Naomi Alderman is an accomplished novelist and I think here she was having some fun and that's how it should be experienced.

It gets better-slightly - as the series progresses

Some of the acting is terrible and the plot is ridiculous. However, episodes 3-5 are somewhat better than the rest. Not worth seeking out, but bearable if you have a couple of hours free, (and it is free!)

Brilliantly observed British murder mystery

This is a thoroughly enjoyable zombie-themed murder mystery, reminiscent of the golden age of detective fiction.
It isn’t scary in a horror sense, but I’d highly recommend it for fans of old fashioned mysteries and science fiction.
It’s set in the UK and has an ‘apocalyptic Coronation Street’ vibe which I particularly loved.

Like Channel 4 ‘Dead Set’ zombie show

I liked it.
Story was good and so where the characters. Kept me guessing right to the end. Hope to hear another series.

It reminded me of the time channel 4 made the zombie big brother series. Real people just acting like people and not overpaid voice actors, like a lot of books are.

Thank you

Light hearted murder mystery

I enjoyed the story
It’s light hearted Murder mystery. Murder she wrote with zombies.
It’s set in the world of zombie run the app. So if you used the app you will recognise some of the characters.
