A Sweet Story, Brilliantly Read.

I think this book would appeal to a wide range of children, especially those who love nature, fairies, mythology or magic. It's a sweet, entertaining little story, perfect for bed time or to amuse on car journeys. It doesn't end on a cliff-hanger, but is set up so the next book would follow along smoothly. The audiobook version is a delight to listen to. The narrator (Ella Lynch) reads with warmth and animation, bringing the story to life. When a character says something while chuckling you can really hear the suppressed laughter in the narrator's voice. Different characters are brought alive with different voices, sometimes subtly and sometimes with charming accents. The whole thing is read in a pleasant, measured manner that should keep the little ones entranced. Altogether, a very enjoyable audiobook.
