Summary

Events are coming to a climax in the Banished Lands as the war reaches new heights. King Nathair has taken control of the fortress at Drassil, and three of the Seven Treasures are in his possession. And together with Calidus and his ally, Queen Rhin, Nathair will do anything to obtain the remaining Treasures. With all seven under his command, he can open a portal to the Otherworld. Then Asroth and his demon-horde will finally break into the Banished Lands and become flesh.

Meanwhile Corban has been taken prisoner by the Jotun, warrior giants who ride their enormous bears into battle. His warband scattered, Corban must make new allies if he hopes to survive. But can he bond with competing factions of warlike giants?

Somehow he must, if he's to counter the threat Nathair represents. His life hangs in the balance - and with it the fate of the Banished Lands.

A must listen

This is a four book series. I initially bought this thinking it was a trilogy and had to wait painfully for the forth to be released. A wonderful listen following a young Corban growing into a leader and a worrier. Great story. Well recommended

Good story

I liked this book it did take a little time to understand the story as the differences between factions/kingdoms was hard to figure out in the first two books but I’m happy I purchased them.

good but not amazing

Good but not amazing. The whole series of 4 books is good if a bit predictable and lacking some depth.

Good but not great

This was a good book but not a great book. I felt that the pacing on this book and the last book was not great compared to the first books.

That being good the story was solid and I was extremely happy with ending.

As a whole this was a good series and I look forward to reading the prequel.

Outstanding!

I cant tell you how much I enjoyed this whole series! Fantastic and brilliant! Performance was superb and story was ace. I would put this right up there with Robin Hobb, George RR and even Patrick Rothfuss. Utterly superb.

Breathtaking end to a great series

Where does Wrath rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

A very good reading of a really good book. Probably the best of the Faithful and the Fallen series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Too many to name but I always enjoyed the bits with Camelyn.

What does Damian Lynch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

With the multiple POV characters it is often to get disoriented when reading yourself. But when listening you can concentrate on what is going on without getting too distracted remembering who's angle you are viewing it all from.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely.

superb narration of a myriad of characters

I have thoroughly enjoyed the series. It is a tale of epic battles set in a medieval time where some magic is present so you should expect a lot of smiting! There is a lot of hand to hand fighting and many, many characters and as some change sides towards the end I did get a bit confused. The "saved from death a second before the coup de grace" got a bit tedious as it appeared in nearly every battle scene but I could not do any better so this is merely a comment not a criticism. The narration by Damien Lynch is superb. His command of regional accents and the diffentiation between age and gender is peerless.
