World War II had the Dirty Dozen.
The war in space has The Lucky 13th. The 13th Spaceborne is the elite fighting force of the Accord of Free Worlds. Their do-or-die mission is to stop two enemy empires from poaching free worlds. As usual, they're on their own....
I'm not suire why this book is hard to listen to because the story is OK and the Narrator has a good voice, but I just could not keep listing to it. When I checked other listeners had the same hard time. Book 2 and 3 had better reviews.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I've stopped at Chapter 6... I've been listening to this for a couple hours, and realized that I haven't pay one bit of attention to it.I listen at work, and 99% of the time I can follow along with anything, but this book, just didn't capture me, so it was relegated to background noise.I might try and listen to it again some other time, but today it was a bust, and a waste.
What didn’t you like about Ax Norman’s performance?
I can't quite put it into words... Maybe its the fact that all the characters are the same voice... There wasn't any changes in its reading to cause me to notice... It just kinda droned on... I think that's why I just didn't get into listening to this book.
