Summary

The fourth book in the best-selling The World Walker series.

Does absolute power corrupt absolutely?

Maybe Seb Varden is in a good position to find out. Depending on your point of view, he has either spent a few days, six months, or 17 years playing a potentially deadly game.

At stake: the freedom of the alien who saved his life, the future of all intelligent species in the universe, and his sanity.

Not only does Seb not fully understand the rules, but it's just possible the game itself is rigged.

So, business as usual then.

Gave up due to boredom

The first two books were great, the third a bit of a left turn and this one is just... boring. Giving up at about half way as Seb is on his 'mission' in which I have no interest. The summit with the other world walkers dragged and dragged. I managed to carpet my entire landing in the time that meeting took...

Is this seriously all coming down to a allegory of the values of religion?

Give me stories of inexplicable human powers and cat-and-mouse games between those who wield them all wrapped in the intrigue of what is really going on... but it smells a lot like an author fulfilling his contract than this having been his plan all along.

Another great series

I will miss Seb and his cohort and the wonderful and frightening adventures they had but as Ian Sainsbury says there are plenty of openings for further stories in the world Walker worlds! Can’t wait - loved it

A good end to the series

Although 9 hours 30 minutes long, time flew when I listened to this. it was interesting to see what happens up to the point Joni has vision.

No regrets reading this series.

Great end to the series

This was a great end to the world walker series but at the same time left room that other stories within the same universe wouldn't seem out of place

Nice ending

I love the ending of this series but for me this was the weakest of all the books I’ve read maybe that’s because the others were so good This one just didn’t stack up against them. Still it’s worth a read or listen for closure

Absolutely loved it!

I really enjoyed this series of books and will really miss the characters. The storylines and themes really made me think! I hope the author writes more in the series.
