Publisher's Summary

A new landscape was formed after the storm, and with it the promise of a new beginning.

One race to dominate this land. One race to survive.

Words were uttered beneath the Saxon while Howie fought the undead.

Words that brought a whole new pressure.

To be relentless and unceasing. To charge forward and never give up. To do what it takes to survive.

That pressure was building, and it became too much. Howie faltered, losing his mind as they ran through the fog and sought the doctors so desperately needed at the fort.

The final act was a simple one. A stubborn man spoke through an intercom at the munitions factory, and his words sparked such a reaction in Howie that he fell apart in front of those who love him the most.

The Undead continues with day 16.

    "Another great instalment "

This is a zombie apocalypse series. There I’ve said it.

Having got that out of the way I struggle to understand how some reviewers think this is plagiarism. Not sure how you copyright zombies.

I adore how this series has evolved and how it focuses on the characters as they evolve. To me as a reader I enjoy the 5 minutes of banter about very little as that in itself is thoroughly entertaining.

If you haven’t started already the extracted series is a must.

    Mr Haywood

Keep writing, in me you have a fan

    Awesome

    "loving these books"
What made the experience of listening to The Undead, Part 16 the most enjoyable?

everything about this series of books is enjoyable, I find myself laughing crying and sometimes shouting out loud to not do things. Fast paced far fetched but utterly compeling

Who was your favorite character and why?

without doubt Dave, slowly coming out of his shell bodyguard and devoted warrior

What does Joe Jameson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

whole lot, he is both female and male, different characters are bought to life by his narration

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had the time I would

    Any additional comments?

Just finished this now waiting for part 17 and 18 to become available

"Plagiarism, Sex and Lack Of Imagination "
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Maybe if the narrator had not been tripping over his own attempts to do the different character accents, at times the narrator seemed to be very weary and came across as being tired/lackluster with his delivery.

What could R. R. Haywood have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Maybe he could try writing something unique and stop stealing other peoples ideas to then take the credit for.
R R seems to have run out of ideas to maintain the storyline and it is my understanding that he is dedicating more time to his additional books,
The undead is just a cash cow for him and has it ticking over rather than writing the books they should be.
Far too much repetition and use of "she says he says", all that is missing to keep the word count up is things like weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee etc
RR relies on sexual content too much as a selling point of the books and this is not 50 shades of grey.
In short R R you have been measured as an Author and been found wanting indeed.

Small amount of credit for the spiders

How could the performance have been better?

Maybe if the narrator had not been tripping over his own attempts to do the different character accents, at times the narrator seemed to be very weary and came across as being tired/lackluster with his delivery.

What character would you cut from The Undead, Part 16?

None as they are all good characters if only RR would utilise them correctly within the writing.

    Any additional comments?

Do stop ripping off other peoples ideas and believing they are your own.

    "Addictive and so enjoyable"

I have enjoyed every part of this entertaining series. The tone, intensity, the jokes, the way that every new part of the story manages to be interesting. The character interaction is simply the best I’ve known... When Joe Jameson initially took over the narration, I was disappointed (Dave’s horrible voice etc.)... However, he’s taken feedback, tweaked things and has taken the story to a different level. He’s massively talented and I’m amazed at the array of voices he can portray so easily.
I will now await a further instalment, and I hope it doesn’t take too long!

    "The laughter, the tears"

I have fallen in love with these characters like they are family. No... I don't feel as close to most of my family as I do to this lot.

Once again, realistic reactions to surreal situations. I am beginning to think that R.R. has some sort of time machine and has lived this.

Oh wait, I think that is another series....

    "100% addicted."

So what's soooo good about this series when I've abandoned many others?

The characters - so varied, so real, so down to earth. I cry with them, I laugh with them (and their stupid jokes), I fall in love with them. I am strangely proud of who they are.

The plot - keeps twisting and turning without being ridiculous. Battle scenes are huge and inspirational, the smaller, quieter moments are often hilarious and equally often lovely, small studies of human nature.

The narrator - Joe Jameson does a simply outstanding job of bringing the many key characters and scenes to life. He is a HUGE asset to the series (as was the narrator of the early books, Dan Morgan).

Full disclosure - I'm British (living in Oz). The story and narration are British. With the abundance of American options on the market, for me, this series really stands out as a study of human nature in the face of extreme adversity. If you like the English accent (of which Joe does a fab job of many and varied accents) you will quickly become addicted to The Undead.

As with all well written 'zombie' shows, it's not about the zombies so much as what their presence brings out in the survivors, tho to be fair, in The Undead series, the infection is an interesting character in itself, which offers another unique dimension.

If you hadn't noticed, I really love this series. When new eps come out I listen to all the old ones again just to string out the suspense and make the new eps last longer.

I've just discovered RR's sci-fi series Extraction also which is proving interesting too.

    What a bloody talented man!
