Publisher's Summary

The magic flames are raging. Blades are melting. Souls are reduced to ashes in the fury of battle. The grand finale of the war for the First Temple is upon us. The last trump cards have been played, the reserves are all exhausted, and even the gods have engaged in the plebeian fight. The universe is on the point of collapse. Broken are the chains that held the worlds together. The icy waters of the Baltic cool the scorching sands of the Frontier. The creatures of AlterWorld spill the first blood on the quiet streets of Earth's cities. What is Max to do? Become embittered and butcher his enemies? Seize the deserted castles and abandoned lands? Attempt to save the one who had given her life for him? Or try to win the jackpot by finding a way home, back to Earth?

Finishing work on my current book. "SquadCom-13" Book 2.
After this one will write "Play to Live-8" - from the author.

    "I guess it's over?"

I'm glad I got some sort of closure to the series but in my opinion this boom felt extremely rushed. I mean, previous books managed to go on for pages just explaining loot management. this one took a gigantic amount of unresolved plot and tied it up in the messiest bow I've ever seen. worth a read but don't expect too much.

    "Tedious and predictable."

Disappointed in this series. Rus took a genre with great potential and turns it into a comic book.

    "That's it?"

I hate endings like this. It felt so rushed with so many questions unanswered. The final fight is something I wouldn't even call a fight. Seemed almost like d. Rus didn't know of how to end it and settled with whatever.

    "It's worth the listen"

This is NOT the best book in the series, I gave it 5 stars across the board because the first few books were fantastic. This series has become an all time favorite for me. Granted, it started strong, and got.. less good, along the way. Regardless, the world Rus created was incredible, the characters had depth, even the lesser ones. Overall, anyone who has made it this far in the series should go ahead and listen to the end. Anyone who is thinking about starting the series.. Do it! I love this series, and will probably re listen in a year or two.

"a useless entry into the series"

the last 3 or more novels have been pointless.
I really wish the author would have wrapped it up quicker.

"First 3 books were great then down hill"

The first 3 books were great then they just went down hill from there. I don't know why I even picked this one up. I guess I was hoped for better and I listed to all the rest. The performance was great, story was so so.

"Not as happy withy it as others"

I really didn't find the story very good. I know time traveling is hard to do, but I just found too many inconsistencies to be like it. The characters are quite shallow as well.

The only reason I read all three was that I bought the audio book version and didn't have anything else.

    "Great improvement"

I was skeptical after book 6, but enjoyed this one.

There is still a hole or two, and a few missed details that shows a lack of planning or forgetting what was established in previous books. In addition, the book felt a bit rushed in places and still leaves a lot of things in the air. But the overall writing was good and the story was fun to follow.
