Summary
Drizzt is back, and facing a world changed forever!
An uneasy peace between the dwarves of Mithral Hall and the orcs of the newly established Kingdom of Many-Arrows can't last long. The orc tribes united under Obould begin to fight each other, and Bruenor is determined to finish the war that nearly killed him and almost destroyed everything he's worked to build.
But it will take more than swords and axes to bring a lasting peace to the Spine of the World. Powerful individuals on both sides may have to change the way they see each other. They may have to start to talk. And it won't be easy.

The new narrator did a bad job
The story is very good as always.
But it is a BIG issue, the narrator changed the pronunciation of many of the characters names.
He is a good narrator no doubt. BUT someone should have told him NOT to change the way the names a pronounced.

At first I was taken aback by the change of narrator and his different pronunciation of names, different pacing of the text. After all the books by Victor Bevine- I was disappointed. But continuing the story I had completely got used to the new style of Mark Bramhall- afterall the book is so amazing- the story takes the lead and not the narrator. A few chapters into the book and it felt as if nothing had changed. Listen on, don't be discouraged by the initial surprise- as great a book as all so far.

It was hard at the begining with a new narrator but he did really good, even if some names sounds really wierd and it took me a couple chapters to figure out who/what he was talking about😉

Not my favourite but really good
Really good book though characters wandering off is frustrating I like them all together but I know that can't always be the case. I preferred Victor Bavine as a narrator but Mark Bramhall did a good job.

these books, great characters, impossible battles, whatever happened to Victor Bevine though? No offence to Mark but he shoulda listened to the precedin' books.

My first Drizzt Novel
After listening to the audio book for a short time I was not worried about having not read other novels in the Drizzt series before. The narration was a welcoming sound and I enjoyed being led into the adventure of Drizzt and his adventuring companions with fluid verse.
Dungeons and Dragons is a game which you might have heard of, and a huge part of the game is story-telling. This lends itself well to a rich universe for the creators of D&D to make some extremely entertaining characters and novels based on those characters and adventures.
If you like high fantasy, then the Dungeons & Dragons multi-universe is going to be your cup of tea. Characters evolve, and so do the lands they live. Drizzt Do'Urdens' adventures are a great place to start.
He is a contemporary character with several recent novels being released. You can expect many great adventures, for a lawfully aligned Drow, he sure lives a long time, and that's a lot of room for stories.
R.A Salvatore is a good writer, he fleshes out description and pushes the tale along, so you don't feel you are being told what just happened.
I play quite a lot of Dungeons & Dragons, and I'm also a local Dungeon Master for official events on the Isle of Wight. I love rolling dice, and now thanks to audible can listen to novels while at my regular job.

Change of. Narration
After so many books narrated by victor to change to another who voiced and accented and pronounced the name of the cast of the book so differently it was hard to feel as in the story as I had for the previous books disappointing.

changing the narrator is annoying.
the book itself is great but if your going to change the narrator you should at least get them to get the pronunciation of names and places the same as the previous one for consistency.as it's frustrating being 20 odd books in then suddenly certain name change.

Great book - not the best narrator
I have just come off listening to the hunters blades trilogy which is amazing. You would think that there would be some form of communication from the narrators over accents and prenouncitation of names. I am really struggling with this book more the change in narrator who by no fault of his own is pronouncing names differently and giving the characters completely different accents to before. Who knew an orc was posh?
