Either listen to or read it today - you won't regret it!

I really enjoyed this short story, which is based on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, but set in the modern world. I liked the way it had been adapted and brought up to date - the use of an Uber-type Taxi as the method by which Scrooge is chauffeured was great, and I loved that the actual car was appropriate to the 'ghost' - classic for past, futuristic self-driving for future etc. Touches like this were, in my view, what elevated the story from good to excellent.
I listened to the audiobook version of the story (on Christmas Eve, of course!), which was excellently narrated by Steve White. He really brought the story to life with his fabulous voices for the characters, and his vibrancy of storytelling: he enjoyed telling it, so I enjoyed listening to it.
I'd definitely recommend listening to the story if you can, you'll definitely love it. But whether you listen or read it, please add this book to your library today - you won't regret it!
NB I received a complimentary copy of this book, but I always give an HONEST review based wholly on my own opinions

Not the Story you are expecting by the Title

George Saoulidis has really been turning out some impressive work lately. I loved his Too Many Friends story, and now this. I'm going to be honest. I have seen the Scrooge story told in a hundred different ways with Henry Winkler, Mr. Magoo, and Murray being just a handful of actors to take one the role. There is even a female version. Patrick Stewart generally rocks out the classic story, but even that is not something that I've enjoyed in a while. So, it is safe to say that I am a little jaded when it comes to Mr. Scrooge.

Now, George Saoulidis gives us his own retelling with the ghosts being taxi drivers, and I have to say this was a refreshing take. I enjoyed listening and would suggest that you do the same. This is a great take on a worn out story. He has breathed new life into this tale, and God Bless him for it.

Steve White does a great job narrating, he plays the ghosts wonderfully. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

strange version of scrooge, a good listen

I just loved this audio book from scrooge being scrooge to the different taxi drivers. the only part is it ended to fast for my liking. George Saoulidis as the writer did an amazing job with scrooge life and let's talk about Steve White as narrator I will search for books with him narrating from now on.
I gave 5s across the board I feel that if anyone wants a different read this is the book.
I was given this book from George Saoulidis to listen to, for an honest opinion.

Great take on Dickens Christmas Carol

What made the experience of listening to The Impossible Quest of Hailing a Taxi on Christmas Eve the most enjoyable?

You know you know the gist of the story but you still want to see how the author envisions a futuristic world to set it in.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked how Scrooge changed. His solutions to the wrongs of the past, and his new demeanor.

Have you listened to any of Steve White’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have and the last book I did not enjoy his voice acting at all, this time he did distinguishable characters yet I had no difficulty understanding each one.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Though it is April it feels like a winters day, this book put me into a Christmas spirit.

Enjoyable Update

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's a quick read/listen and it's an enjoyable update to the old story. Done in a lovely modern way, with the lovely twist of the character knowing about the original.

Which character – as performed by Steve White – was your favorite?

Scrooge, of course.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Short and sweet.

Any additional comments?

I received this book in return for an HONEST review.

Hilarious

Very funny retelling of a Christmas carol beautifully preformed with perfect timing and inflection. An audiobook easily worth the price.
