TARGET AUDIENCE: Anyone who loves fantasy. This book immediately grabs your attention with a unique story line. Good for any age.
PROFANITY AND SEX: None, Thank you. Absolutely going to recommend to my teens and adult children.
STORY LINE: This is the second book in the Nevaeh series. Takes place in the 53rd century in a post-apocalyptic world. Radiation has caused unusual mutations throughout the earth’s population. Continues to develop the characters that were introduced in the first book. Contains suspense, adventure, and romance (no sex). I particularly like how he developed a new, unique story line.
NARRATOR: Really enjoyed the narrators reading of this book. Added to the overall story.
OVERALL: Can’t wait to read the next one.

These books are extremely well written and you can tell how much passion the author puts into it. You become emotionally intertwined in the story and with the characters feeling like you are part of the story. Once I started reading these and they are very hard to stop and get sleep in between, I just want to keep breeding until I am done and they are A longer book. I am hooked and cannot wait till the next one and they have great narration as well.
odds against overwhelming evil after overwhelming odds against overwhelming evil. a little repetitive to me. got tiresome. thought I'd puke if I heard how evil things felt one more time. and please don't mention the word doubt.

Really well written, entertaining, interesting and enjoyable fantasy quest.
Action, suspense, adventure, magic, good vs evil, medieval, mystery.
I enjoyed this story even more than the first book. While there are new characters introduced, all the familiar characters from the first book are present and it's like coming back to see old friends. For me this story was more interesting, flowed better and had more details regarding/about the characters.
More insight given on Roth's past and world he came from and what started the final downfall of the world as we know it, starting the change of the world into current that is Nevaeh.
Love the aspect of the story that takes our present events and uses it as a base for this future earth fantasy adventure.
I like the fact that the relationship between Areenna and Mikaal is slow and steady not a rush job.
Helene McCardle did a really did a fantastic job with the narration. I actually enjoyed her narration in this book more than the first one. She seemed more at ease with the characters and story. The narration flowed smoothly in a nice even pace. Her character voices were more distinct this time, I had no problem understanding which characters were speaking.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Dark Masters to be better than the print version?
I didn't read the print version but I thoroughly enjoyed the audio books!
What other book might you compare The Dark Masters to and why?
I don't really have a comparison other than the Elemental mysteries because of the similarities in the plots.
Have you listened to any of Helene McCardle’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes, I listened to the first book in this series and I wouldn't have listened to this one had I had an issue with it.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed much more in this book than I did in the first in the series.
